I was having a problem with my 86 Toyota 22re, 75 frame not starting. I had been in the rain for about a week. Also, I had a small water leak from the city water connection but at the time I was blaming the wet carpet on the excessive rain. When I tried to start the engine it would idle for a time but wold not accept the call for more fuel. After checking the internet about how fuel injection worked I removed the Computer control and noticed water around the plug-in connections. I truned the control with the openings down and hit it on my thigh. Water came out. I reinstalled the control and the engine runs fine. The boot through the firewall was not tight on the wires. I got some rubber undercoating and filled around the boot. I hope this will keep the water out. The wet carpet contributed to condensation within the camper when I was heating the camper. I recommend reading about fuel injection systems because the accerator does not control the fuel directly.
