anna
Hi everyone! I've got a 78 Chinook (20R engine) thats having a little trouble. It chugged/misfired pretty violently at low speeds for a few miles then ran a little better after we cranked up the idle. After it seemed to be running fine we cranked the idle back to normal and made it home. It was also backfiring quite a bit too. Its been raining the past week here and I wonder if that isn't a symptom of water in the gas lines. Do these symptoms ring any alarm bells with anyone out there? Thanks so much. Shoprat
Howdy Anna. Moisture in the distributor cap comes to mind. Check that out.
bufbooth
I agree with Shoprat on the Moisture in the distributor cap. Also, you could have a spark plug wire going bad that the mositure is reducing or eliminating the spark to one of your cylinders, and once the engine warms up the mositure is gone until the truck sits overnight. Hope this helps, Dennis...
