rusticandy
Hello all, Lots of questions from this newbie!! I had a question regarding weatherization/sealing of my coach. I have a 90 itasca spirit, that looks pretty good, but the 1/32 gaps in the cualking around the windows, edge joints and a few cracks in the fiberglass make me want to go over it. IE scrape, brush out as much as I can, then recaulk. My questions are this- Is this a wise use of time (trying to preempt leaks on an old rig like this)? What should I use? EDPM caulk? Im also going to be recoating the roof with EDPM. Can I save this in the freezer and use in to caulk the windows/joints?? Thank you everyone who has boldy gone before! I appreciate your thoughts and expertise! Andy
waiter
The windows need to be removed and re-sealed. I seen a video somewhere that describes the process. When I did mine, I did not use butyl tape, I used a urethane based caulking , put a bead around the opening, put a bead around the window, then re-inserted the window. I'll post photos of this someday. JOhn Mc 88 Dolphin 4 Auto
