Bob C Posted July 22, 2013 Share Posted July 22, 2013 It is your motorhome so do what you want to it. If you want an outside access door put it in. I think that I would do some exploritory cutting on the inside where you want the hatch to be. That way, if it means cutting through important frame members you can change you mind without having the siding cut up. My Escaper has a rear side entrance. If I put a step back there, even a folding one, I am afraid that I would be destroying it due to low clearance. Installing my airbags helped but it is still kind of low. I created a binder that I leave in the Townhouse, I wrote down all the model numbers and downloaded all the manuals.
