Palouse Rider
This may not be a problem, I don't know. Twice when i have started my toy, both the Charge(Gen) and Brake idiot lights remain lit once the engine is started. If I turn it off and restart it, the lights go out. The battery is getting charged. It's an '85 with the 22RE. Any thoughts? I HATE intermittant problems! ~Dave
Gulfstream Greg
Suprised no body responded to your post, any how that sounds like a bad voltage regulator or bad brushes in the altinator. Those lights usually go out when the charging system kicks in. Greg
sitztoy
Sorry, I didn't pick up on this. My Sunrader did it twice, the same way. Shut it off and turned it back on, all OK. Seems the more I drive it, the less of these problems pop up. I think the problem is an external voltage regulator. After 20 years I probably need a new one.
