Riverpark Eric
After my LP has been on for awhile (less than a day), we'll get a slight smell of gas towards the back of the rig. It can be detected both inside and out, isn't horribly strong, but is certainly there. My question is, where in the world do I start when trying to find the leak? Could it be the (old) tank itsself? Any help would be great. Thanks! Eric in Sacramento '88 Odyssey
waiter
Get a little bottle of that LP leak detect stuff. Any RV place should sell it. Where the regulator attached to the tank, where the rubber hose crimped to the fittings, and the regulator itself had a small leak. I also suspect the hose itself was doing some microscopic leaking, as I could put the hose up to my nose and smell LP After I upgraded and replaced everything, no leaks: http://toyotamotorhome.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=3448 John Mc 88 Dolphin 4 Auto
twoblocked
My question is, where in the world do I start when trying to find the leak? Could it be the (old) tank itsself? My favorite testing method is to use a frothy mixture of liquid dishwashing soap and water. "Paint " around each fitting, starting at the tank with the soapy mixture. A leak shows up as a growing bubble.
Riverpark Eric
Thanks guys. Found the pesky little leak on the LP tank connector. Whew! I can breathe freely now!
