Dennis, we took a 3 week trip last summer from Tampa area to N.J. and then across to Niagara Falls. We had Clancy {21ft Warrior} on two ferries with no problem. The OB is rv friendly but dont try to drive on the beach. The sand is soft and trucks get stuck. the locals let the air out of their tires but i was not up for that. The fishing was a big disappointment as summer is not their fishing season. We did not make any reservations as we were not sure of our itinirary, and had no problems finding campgrounds. As always the state park campgrounds are cheaper. It was a great trip. If you have any questions email me . Ken{coach] kgill@pasco.k12.fl.us

Hello, I'm new to this forum. I go to OBX many times during the summer to windsurf and kiteboard. I see a lot of RV's there so you might wanna get reservations. We always just pitch a tent so I'm not sure about RV spots. Friscowoods campground is a nice place.
