nibs
At this time of year I am using 15/40. The owners manual says the the recommended oil in operating temps from O to 100 degs, is 20/40, and shows 20/50 for the higher temp range. It also shows using 10/30 if you will be operating the rig at -10 degs. general consensus is that Synthetic oil is not a good choice for these older motors. Hope that helps. bufbooth
On my 1986 Toyota Pickup truck with the 22R engine, it used 10W-40.

T.A.J.
I've run Mobile 1 full synthetic with a quart of Lucas Pure Synthetic Oil Stabilizer so I never have a dry start. This works great for my '84 Dolphin. Has never used a drop of oil. To each his own. T.A.J.
