Can I tow my motorhome behind my Dodge crewcab truck?

There are times we need the bed of our crewcab truck for cargo, but would still like to "live" in the motorhome. We realized that the motorhome is lighter than the travel trailer we used to pull. Is is possible to put a bar on the front of the motorhome and tow it behind the truck? The motorhome is a 4-cyl. manual '83 Huntsman.

Strange question, guess I had never thought of a motor home as a trailer. You would probable have to get some one to fabricate some type of plate for a tow bar the bumper will never hold it and have you thought about breaks your trailer most likely had electric breaks and your motor home won't. You maybe looking at 5 to 6 thousand pounds with no breaks of it's own. With a manual trans it is not as much of an issue as an automatic but still for long distance towing it would be a real good ideal to remove the drive shaft. With out the engine running there is no oil movement in the transmission so the rear bearing and the front of the main shaft would get no lube.

Friend of mine towed his Toyota behind his bus for about a year. I plan on towing my Sunrader behind my bus, when we go south this winter. brakes are no problem for the bus, even towing the Sunrader it will be lighter than a bus full of people. Havent looked at how to fasten the A frame yet, but will probably use the tow hooks on the frame of the truck. Imo with a standard you don't need to disconnect the driveshaft, my friend had an automatic so he did. Just make sure you are in neutral, guy I know took off with his toad in first gear - the result - bits of engine all over the engine compartment.
