I don't know what the milage is on it. Interestingly they didn't put this bit of info in the ad. Classic 1986 Toyota Sunrader Seemless Construction 22re with 60k Cab AC Camper AC Electric Heater Propane Heater Stainless Steel Stove-Oven Fully Self Contained Hot Water Shower This is a very ecenomical driver, 17mpg. gmichaelz Posted July 20, 2009 Share Posted July 20, 2009 Hello Turiyahill: In your description of your 4 cylinder engine "22RE" it has 60,000 miles as listed (60k) The Motorhome chassis may have more miles and the engine was rebuilt or replaced. But, they appear to list 60,000 miles on the engine and without further explanation you need to ask seller specific questions. Their asking price of $10,000 seems a bit high to me for a 1986 model with 60k miles. Price is determined by whatever the market will bear! shandamac Posted July 20, 2009 Share Posted July 20, 2009 Hi Turi, Here's my 2 cents: A motorhome is not usually driven as much as a personal auto, so it's very possible that 60K is original. My little 81 had 78K, which at the time I thought was pretty good, but after reading past posts, I'm amazed at how low the mileage can be on some of the little toys that are scooped up by our members. Saying that, at $10K, you'll want to make sure the MH you're looking at has the full floating, 6 lug dually rear axles, (I never can remember at what year they started catching that big error) and the home is in better than decent shape. Look for buckled or warped paneling under all the windows and in the bottom corners of the upper sleeping deck. Don't be afraid to pull out the cushions and check. Wouldn't hurt to have a mechanic look under the hood, and there are lots of past posts on coach batteries and appliances (heater, water heater, fridge, stove) maintenance and particulars. If possible, it might be nice to have the current owner hook up city water and electric to check all appliances and plumbing (maybe even a short tutorial on usage), and quasi fill the potable water tank to check for leaks. See if he'll let you watch him light the stove and hot water heater. Take notes. He shouldn't mind. I'm not selling her, but if I did, I'd want Sadie's next owner to take very good care of her and that would mean knowing all her little quirks. helloo Posted July 27, 2009 Share Posted July 27, 2009 looks like you are looking at alisting in arcada on craigslsit. what ever you do the less problems it has the better. also pay attention to how everyting runs because i failed to listen to my seller i now know nothing on how to operate the appliances. heres the rational on price. 1. price 2. you chose a sunrader because size, layout, fiberglass body,low maintance 3. good gas milage 4.easy to drive 5 insuarance is cheaper yada yada yada. on a 10000 mile trip you can save 2 grand on gas from 17mpg to 8 mpg. savings come quickyl without increased use. 6 safety maynot be your high point thus the price. 7. what can you get for 10 grand?
