  1. Yeah that 2nd pic was just what I had in mind. One thing I dont understand about the gen-turi is why is that gap in between pipe and exhaust? I'm sure theres an engineering reason behind it,seems like it would quiet it down more if pipe was completely over exhaust pipe
  2. Hey thats pretty cool,I might attempt to make one, although all the reviews I read said it didnt reduce the sound that much but it's still nice to get those fumes up at the top.
  3. Inside the coach its loud but its not that bad,it's the outside noise that i'm talking about.I need to find some kind of baffle to hook up to it and see if I can quiet it down.I wonder if those decibel meters you get as a free app are any good to compare my 2 gens
  4. Yes I am having problems today and it happened a couple weeks ago, when I'm typing all of the sudden it will quit typing and I have to go back and start over
  5. I'll take that bet! I have a Champion 4000 watt Generator that is not as loud as that Kohler.I drove the rig thru the neighborhood with the gen running and people walking were looking at me like I was nuts because it was so loud. You ever seen the mosquito sprayer in the back of pickups going thru the neighborhood? Thats what it sounds like
  6. I would bet a million dollars both those gens are quieter then the gen that's in it now.I think if they would fit in there a work around could be made to fill them with gas and extend the muffler so it's blowing outside the coach area. But being able to do all that and then have the pull start in the right place where you could get to it is another story.Perfect scenario would be a drawer that slides in and out with gen sitting on it.
  7. I'm guessing you cant put a standalone generator in the hole the generator goes and run it,but what are the reasons? I think both of these generators would fit in the spot where mine is.Now i know 1 problem would be where the exhaust vents, what would the other problems be? Would these get too hot in that enclosed space? Are rv gens made differently so they dont get hot?
  8. LOL yeah theres a lot of generator "discussions".I'm in Tx and I will be camping in over 90 degree weather and will want to run a/c all night.I have been researching the generator post on here, seen a lot of people say the Honda 2000 will not power the a/c,but none of those post mentioned combining it with the starter power pack.
  9. So if I install one of these http://www.ebay.com/itm/111702749501 would I be able to use the HF equivalent to the Honda to power my a/c? And I would want to run the a/c all night long
  10. So did you ever get this figured out? Will your HF gen start your a/c now?
  11. Ok thanks, have you done this? Is it fairly obvious where to hook this up? thanks
  12. I'm interested in where you hooked up one of those"caps" for the a/c? Where exactly do you hook it up at? Is it accessible from inside the coach or do you need to get on roof and take cowling off to hook this part up? thanks
  13. Yeah I think a lot of stereos in cars nowadays give you the option of having the volume increase with the road noise,I think both my vehicles do.
  14. Ha! Second ambulance ride in less then a year, broke my leg in jetski accident on Father's Day that did ruin my vacation. Finally got into a room. I am in like a ICU watching area. Finally got some pain meds that took the pain from a 10 down to about or seven. I am supposed to get two more bags of anti-venom, if swelling goes down probably be released Tuesday, if it doesn't go down they will have to do surgery if it continues to swell. What a pisser! Oh well, pity party over, what's done is done
  15. Well shit, typing this from hospital room . Took my dune buggy to the beach today and when I was loading it back on the trailer got bit by a rattlesnake, getting IV of antivenom now then I'm supposed to go to ICU and spend the night and maybe get another bag of antivenum in 8 hrs. The pain is intense, they have given me numerous hits of morpine and it's barely making a dent, sure hope I get out tomorrow
  16. Lol wouldnt that mean my luck would be the opposite? The odds on me putting a bad inj in the same spot are probably close to the odds of winning the lottery so I guess I should buy a ticket! I'm afraid to go start it today, been fighting it for so long I'm afraid when I start it the misfire will be back
  17. Yeah thats about where mine is located, yes it's hard to get into that spot and photograph it
  18. Ok it's gotten daylight and now that I've concentrated on finding it pretty sure this is it located in front of the radiator.
  19. So where is transmission cooler on V-6? It's very early in the morning here or I would go outside and look again,but when I've looked before I did not see one.Maybe I;m just overlooking it,but I did not see one where I would think one would be{mounted in front of the radiator}
  20. It was the The rebuilt flame throwers are whats on it. Yes I cleaned fuel rails also. But as you see in the pic, these new injs have a pigtail that clips to new injs then to stock connectors. I'm not sure it's the re-cleaning of everything or that pigtail didn't stay snapped on good thru the process of putting everything back together. Either way I'm very happy I tore it back down one more time and got it taken care of, again thanks everyone for your help.
  21. So took fuel injs, fuel rails etc back off today, thought I'd give it one last try before I give up. Re-cleaned everything, took each inj, hooked a clear tube up to each one {one at a time} filled the tube with some Inj cleaner, blew on tube while hitting contacts with battery to blow those out. Re-assembled everything. Started it up ......... drumroll ......... it's fixed!!!!! Hooray for me! So my next day off I'm most likely going to take it to Roberts shop and let him do the valve adj and timing belt.
  22. Was watching a show I recorded called Tech Garage this morning. The host was going over the old style distributor engines and how to read plugs etc.He said you can also use this handy tool, hook it up to your spark plug and it will tell you whats going on.It was an oscilloscope made by UEI.Too bad AutoZone doesnt have this in their rent a tool program 1750 bucks. http://www.autozone.com/test-scan-and-specialty-tools/multimeter/uei-automotive-dual-channel-digital-storage-oscilloscope-graphing-multimeter-with-obd-ii-code-reader/94926_0_0
