  1. THANKS FOR SHARING. TWO THUMBS UP. ENJOYED YOUR VIDEO. JOE FROM DOVER
  2. thanks to all for input and advice. when planning trips i DO NOT wish to travel upon the interstates as much as possible, so i was wondering if all or most GPS devices can route, display, U.S. highways and state routes ?? any help with this concern is appreciated. joe from dover
  3. hey there--very nice rebuild. looks great. appears you recovered the upholstery. was that a diy project ? and if so was it very difficult ? i have thought of updating my coach with new fabric, just wondering if would be in over my head on that. very nice work, looks great. joe from dover
  4. try this site (if not already aware) ToyotaRVForSale.com may be of some help. joe from dover
  5. hey there mike w. i too will give stuver spring a thumbs up. markwilliam1 and i grew up just a few miles from stuver. i BELIEVE stuver has been in business for close to 100 years, (1920's maybe ? ) and i think they are still operated by descendants of the founder. they do custom fabrication of all types of springs. summit racing (located in akron also) recommends stuver. they did some work on my 1965 barracuda way back when i was in high school (48 years ago), then as now stuver is thee spring shop for northeast ohio. obviously stuver is a long drive from the great state of kentucky, and i am sure you may find a spring shop closer, but if all else fails...stuver is your place. great work and very reasonable. good luck. joe from dover.
  6. sorry i can not help with info on your rig, but it is very, very, cool. good luck joe from dover
  7. i have a similar rig (92 winnie warrior) due to pin holes in the original aluminum sheet metal covering the roof, and a very severe hail storm last spring, i had an entire new roof installed by a local rv shop. i had estimates from 3 shops all within 40 miles from where i live in east central ohio. all the estimates were 5 to 6 k. lucky for me my insurance paid the bill. what i found was , most shops only want to do something as labor intensive as a whole new roof in the "off" season (winter), it took the rv shop all summer to get my rig done. i did not get it back until november 2nd. the shop did a great job, which included re arching the aluminum supports which "corrected" the sagging therefore eliminating the water pooling around the ac, and any pooling on the entire roof. i was fortunate to have the work done before any water damage could occur. just wanted to offer my experience in case you do decide on a new roof and wish to have a professional shop do the work. good luck. joe from dover
  8. i know i am restating all the above posts, but the water damage you described scares the bejeezers out of me. just my 2 cents: i may not run away from this one, but i would consider walking briskly. these are great rigs to own, and as i sense from most owners on this forum (self included), you really get immersed in owning, upgrading and preserving your rig. it is a no brainer that ANY rig you purchase will require additional expense. in my humble opinion, i would suggest that you keep looking and you will find your diamond in the rough. good luck. joe from dover.
  9. possibly may install a gps with radio, dvd, and cd player. the unit i am researching is a POWER ACOUSTIK model PDN-726B. this unit supposedly will fit the dash of my 92 winnie. very positive reviews, and has way more tech features than i will probably use. the price seems very reasonable. it will support a rear view camera which is bundled with for $215.00. has a pop up 7 inch touch screen. anyone out there have this or a similar unit ? i have never had a gps in a vehicle, are they worth the cost ? would this be something i would find beneficial and valuable enough to install one ? any comments, info, or suggestions would be welcome . thanks. joe from dover.
  10. derek up north - glad you commented on that, i noticed that as well but felt my knowledge level is not sufficient enough to point it out . could the front have been converted as well ?? just curious. joe from dover
  11. that is a very nice looking rig, but in my opinion NOT 10k nice. i do not know what your purchase budget is, but as all have said previously, allow for spending some money for after purchase. you never know what you may find once she is "yours". in regards to pa. inspection: you may want to contact pa. dmv and ask what is required. spring is coming, and your choices may increase in a month or two. i know finding one close to home is preferable. i was very fortunate to find mine about 30 miles from where i live. hang in there, these are really cool rigs, best wishes on your search. joe from dover
  12. another area of concern with later models ( v6 engine ) is an issue regarding the head gaskets. if you look at buying a rig with the v6, try to determine if the head gaskets were replaced. as i have learned on this forum, head gasket replacement can be a very expensive repair. joe from dover.
  13. hello and welcome, a very close friend bought an 85 granville with 30k. it was in really good shape. unfortunately because the po was elderly the rig had sat a very long time. my friend had to replace many front suspension parts, brakes, shocks, as well as belts, hoses, battery, etc. also due to the age, all tires were replaced. i am not trying to discourage you at all. but how the rig was maintained and driven or not driven by po will tell you alot. on the bright side, parts are generally easy to find and reasonably priced. also this site will be a gold mine of information and help. the people here really want to help and have a vast supply of "been there, done that". also, other than blatant safety issues, you may not have to repair or replace things all at once. good luck. joe from dover
  14. they look great, also i think you got a super price. good luck wishing you many happy, safe miles in your travels. joe from dover.
  15. EXCESSIVE AND ANNOYING CAPS.......My Bad
  16. WHERE TO BEGIN WITH THIS. WE ARE ALL ENTITLED TO AN OPINION, SO HERE IS MINE. I DO NOT FEEL THIS SITE IS "PAINFULLY OUTDATED". i DO NOT BELIEVE I AM "LIVING IN THE PAST". I ENJOY THE "90'S LOOKING WEBSITE". NO ONE NEEDS TO TELL ME IT IS 2017. I CAN FIND OUT WHAT YEAR IT IS ON A CALENDAR, DON'T NEED TO RELY ON AN ELECTRONIC PERSONAL DEVICE TO INFORM ME OF THE DAY, DATE, YEAR, AND TIME . WHEN I USE MY PHONE FOR CALLS OR TEXTS ONLY, I DO NOT FEEL THAT I AM "DOING IT WRONG". IT IS PERFECTLY FINE TO OFFER SUGGESTIONS ON ANY SUBJECT. BUT, (MY OPINION) IF THOSE SUGGESTIONS ARE PERCEIVED AS A BIT CONDESCENDING, AND HAVE AN ARROGANT FLAVOR , i SUSPECT THEY MAY NOT BE WARMLY ACCEPTED. ALL TOO OFTEN THERE EXISTS A MINDSET THAT SAYS, WHAT WORKS FOR THE MAJORITY, SHOULD BE CHANGED FOR A FEW , AND WHATEVER LABOR, EFFORT AND COSTS INVOLVED TO CHANGE "IT" FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE FEW, SHOULD BE BORN BY THE MAJORITY THAT IS COMFORTABLE WITH THE STATUS QUO. BY ALL MEANS IF YOU FEEL THERE IS A VOID THAT NEEDS FILLED, FEEL FREE TO CREATE WHATEVER YOU FEEL IS SUPERIOR AND MEETS YOUR TECHNOLOGY LEVEL. JOE FROM DOVER.
  17. CONGRATZ ON YOUR RIG. LOOKS SPECTACULAR. VERY NICE. WELCOME TO THE TOYA MH WORLD. I AM A FAIRLY NEW FAN OF THESE WONDERFUL RIGS. BOUGHT MINE ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF AGO. I HAVE BECOME TOTALLY CONSUMED WITH WANTING TO LEARN AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE AND THIS SITE HAS BEEN THEE PLACE TO GO FOR HELP, INFO, AND INTERESTING TIPS AND STORIES. WISHING YOU AND YOUR TOYA SHARE MANY HAPPY MILES TOGETHER. JOE FROM DOVER.
  18. REGARDING YOUR GEL COAT QUESTIONS : AWHILE BACK (MAYBE 2 MONTHS AGO) THERE WERE SEVERAL POSTS ABOUT USING A ZEP FLOOR CARE PRODUCT ON GEL COAT /FIBERGLAS EXTERIORS. VERY INFORMATIVE AND INSTRUCTIONAL. UNDER THE "IMPROVEMENT" FORUM HEADING, IF MEMORY SERVES. WORTH A LOOK AT. INCLUDED WERE PICS. ALL LOOKED VERY NICE. JOE FROM DOVER
  19. I KEEP MY COLLECTION IN THE PORCELAIN LIBRARY ! LOL. JOE FROM DOVER.
  20. i've noticed in the monthly HF catalog they mail to me, the same exact item may be on three different pages at different prices. once realized, it forces you to browse the entire catalog, and i usually find something else i would like to have. crafty and excellent marketing ploy on HF's part. not to mention checking on line prices, as well as in store flyer price. it is a little work but i don't mind, in the end, saving a few bucks helps. joe from dover.
  21. WESTFIELD INSURANCE, 1 PARK CIRCLE, WESTFIELD CENTER, OHIO 44251-5001. ANNUAL PREMIUM IS $210.00.
  22. another thought on ERS. the insurance policy i have on my rig includes the following: $250.00 towing per disablement. $100.00 per day for a max of 10 days emergency expenses ( hotel ). transportation expense $100.00 per day /$3000.00 max (car rental) as well as electronic equip.( stereos, gps, laptops, tv's, digital cameras etc. ) coverage to $2500.00. other media (tapes, discs, etc.) $200.00. motor home contents, $5000.00 less $50.00 deductible. as well as your normal collision, uninsured motorist, liability, medical etc. glass coverage, no deductible. no deductible for non collision repairs. this policy cost $210.00 per year. to me spending more money on a separate ERS policy would only be beneficial if it covered way more than what is already covered in my vehicle policy. something to consider. joe from dover
  23. i often wondered what became of the "CLAMPET'S " CABIN.
  24. if your shipper is reputable and cost effective, you may give that option some thought. of course you may miss the opportunity to have some really interesting stories to tell about your cross country " Maiden voyage" that you may find amusing...5 years later. lol. whatever you decide, be careful and wish you all the best. joe from dover
  25. my 2 cents, try and find a plastic bottle to use as a "plug". 1.5 inches is not real huge, maybe a discarded prescription pill bottle, or any plastic bottle with 1.5 inch o.d. trim to length if needed , insert into hole open end down then use sealant / tape / caulking. joe from dover.
