  2. Martha Stewart had declared .org and toyota yahoo off limits 🤣 I belong to a couple of Toyota forums and have never seen this posted. I gave up on Yahoo and have not went there in a long time.
  3. I brought this up on social media a couple times and no response. Page 157 of my 1994 owners manual states the dealer will replace the O2 sensor parts and labor at no cost to me. Has anyone done this. Too late for me as I already replaced mine.
  4. I went through this, I had a battery that would show a bad cell with a hydrometer but at Walmart they would charge the battery and then load test it and it would pass. I talked to the manager and he claimed corporate policy forced them to do it that way.
  5. Most people with a V6 who seem reasonable report in the 12-13 area over many tanks of gas. Sometimes under 10 going into the mountains with a headwind and and up to 15 under good conditions. I know going up into the Rockies I could almost see the gauge moving down and was checking the GPS for the next gas station! I don't know what the mpg was but it was very poor!
  6. Look on Google and You Tube for repairing RV rot, you will find many posts and videos on repairing. Also search this forum.
  7. On my 94 V6 I tested everything that could produce a bad signal 3 times, looked at every wire that could be chaffed. Read countless posts on the net relating to no start situation most of whom said it is never the ECU! Out of frustration threw in the towel and sent the ECU for diagnosis and it was the problem.
  8. I'll try it with the engine off next time, but not very optimistic.
  9. 3 years ago, don't remember. Do a Google search.
  10. I gave up looking for an ECU for my 94 V6 and sent it in for diagnosing and repair. $ 180 I think?
  11. I don't think I could get 18 with my V6 coming down out of the mountains with a tailwind!
  12. Camping world does not have a very good reputation with Toy owners. They will only buy a tank from Ronco or another supplier and mark it up. I would guess you will get a better fit, buying directly and they can cut the openings for you. Your tank may be repairable, did you consider that?
  13. Yes or it is the only V6 in the country that gets 18. I notice there are different kinds of people who get high mileage. Some are delusional and could pass a lie detector test on inflated mpg claims. Some are very poor at math and some are just liars who think everyone is stupid enough to believe them. Any way you look at it you cannot trust anything else they say.
  14. There are cheap leak finders available. They are not 100% accurate and can be fooled, of no use when engine is running. But with the tester and soap bubbles, opp's soap bubbles. Pro's no longer use soap bubbles, they have high tech solutions now! Like Hercules leak detector and many others! Anyway with electronic leak detector and high tech soap bubbles should be able to hone in on leak. Not sure if detectors work with R12?? I replaced every part of my AC except the pressure switch and it was the *&^%$ pressure switch that leaked. It is inside the evaporator case which is a fun job to get to! https://www.amazon.com/KIPA-Refrigerant-Detector-Portable-Condition/dp/B07D28ZWTN/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1541769350&sr=8-3&keywords=refrigerant+leak+checker
  15. Repaired is a broad term and needs some clarification. Often something can get in the fan blower and cause a racket. Google how to check and clean. On mine the blower wheel was broken!
  16. I went through Wal Mart not having the right cone. They sent me down the street to an independent shop. Did not drive Toy for long time and when I did was not happy with it. Took to another shop that does on vehicle balancing and tech showed me a bit handful of weights, know they were mine as I painted wheels. Asked where I had balance done and he said they had no idea how to properly balance a tire! Pretty sad when I cannot even get a tire balanced right!
  17. What it says on the box or part means nothing! They can fake anything. Because something is made in China does not automatically make it of poor quality, made in Japan does not insure high quality. Did the Denso rep physically inspect the radiator?
  18. Sorry about your bad luck on this. I am always skeptical about buying parts from Ebay and Amazon. This is a far bigger problem than people realize, there is no way to tell if the part is actually provided by the manufacturer stamped on the box. https://www.wardsauto.com/industry/chinese-police-seize-thousands-fake-toyota-parts https://www.local10.com/consumer/call-christina/feds-warn-of-counterfeit-auto-parts
  19. If one can of snake oil does not fix it 5 should do the trick!
  20. I have not had to deal with temp senor yet and hope I do not have to. It is located with other sensors on a sensor block under the intake plenum at the rear of the motor. I see one guy remove hood to access it. Google temperature sensor removal, 3VZE.
  21. There are countless things to be checked and most with time and money are fixable. Tire age age is a biggy, tires that look good ready to explode on the way home! Google how to read DOT codes and check for dry rot. I would replace tires of unknown history at 6 years old. The absolute worst problem I have seen over the years is overheating problems. People have bought Toys and they start with a thermostat, then a water pump, new radiator, new fan clutch, change to electric fan, then a fancy multi core radiator on and on throwing good money after bad. Overheating can be difficult to diagnose and may be a simple fix or a nightmare! It is often head gasket sealer or magic radiator fix that has plugged the cooling cores in the motor. This is rare, I have seen 4 in the last 3 years, but for me personally if I saw any signs of overheating I would walk away.
  22. Good point I should have mentioned how I did mine, the sensor came with the crimp on connectors which I seldom use. Mine are mechanically fastened with western union splice, soldered. Then heat shrunk with dielectric compound. I only see one sensor, did a web search and looks like only the California models have 2. With the 2nd one having a different part #
  23. I only see 1 O2 sensor on my V6. Toyota says to replace at 80,000 miles and I did not know if mine had ever been replaced. I was on the fence but found OE for cheap. Gotta splice in no plug. https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Bulk-Denso-234-4050-Oxygen-Sensor-For-Toyota-Lexus/360897062129?epid=10014333567&hash=item54072424f1:g:w7sAAOSw~fpZuZZe:sc:USPSPriority!33917!US!-1:rk:1:pf:0
