  1. My 87 Sunrader didnt come with a LPG detecter? or last owner yanked it out? I plan on adding one - where do you all have yours? low to the floor, and not near a furnace vent? any suggestions for ease of tapping into the wiring? I just put in a smoke detector too!
  2. Insulate all your water pipes, this helps a lot. I plan on cascade ski camping too. I did for years in a Sportsmobile. The only issue I had was my water tank drain piping froze - the only piping on vehicle exterior I did not insulate. At night leave the access door to your water pump open a bit to let some heat in to prevent freezing pump and pipes. Keep a kettle on the stove full of water so at least you can have a hot drink if pipes do freeze - only happened to me twice in 2 years.
  3. Thanks. I now have zurcs on the front and pumped some grease in, definately an improvement! Front shocks are rusty so I'm getting new shocks up front. Question: has anyone upgraded the leaf springs in rear with air bag shocks? Worth doing? My Neighbour did so on his Tacoma and loves them. If you have what parts do I order? I'm installing the front shocks myself. Never installed rear air bags - easy to do?
  4. I'll need new front shocks, when I turn at full radius I hear a springing sound! And maybe air for the rear
  5. Thanksgiving, means my son and I escaped and camped outside in our Sunrader - house full of family! First night he complained a little of the cold, so I cut some refletix home insulation from a roll to fit snugly under our Sunrader curtain rail. Last night he said it was much warmer! A good temporary fix until next summer when I permanently insulate - this will do for ski season.
  6. Hi I'm a new owner 1987 Sunrader 4x4. I'm new to full floater axles. How do I identify if I have the rear full floater 1 ton? Looks like I have a 6 lug and running MAXXIS RADIAL 751 LT 215 75R15. 6PR 100/97 S with S stamped on tire max tire = 1765lbs. Would you recommend re packing the axle? I have no idea when it was last serviced?

  8. Downsized from a 2004 Sportsmobile to our new 1987 Sunrader 22re turbo 4x4. Love the layout. Beats the Sportsmobile hands down. Wife can't complain any more about not having a shower! Reliving my youth, I was 17 when this rader rolled out of the factory. This is my third Toyota, still have a 95 tacoma, miss my Hilux in New Zealand, when the Raders gas engine dies (probably never though they are just too dam reliable) I'll drop a diesel in her! Home for now is Olympia WA.
  9. I'm a new member and very interested to explore Vancouver Is. I'm in Wa State just a ferry hop away. Let me know when the 2014 Van Isle Toy in will be
