  1. Soon I will be replacing the front wheel bearings on my 1989 Dolphin V6. While doing this, I am thinking about also replacing the rotors as I noticed some shimmy upon applying the brakes last year. Are the rotors the standard size for a 1989 Toyota truck or is there a difference? Thanks
  2. Very interesting. After watching your video, I checked mine even though it is a 6 cyl. Nothing like the 22re but, I decided to check out inside the canister. Very nasty and almost completely clogged with dirt and debris. It's a KN so, I washed it clean and it's ready to go. Thanks for jogging my memory regarding something I should have done some time ago.
  3. Soon I will be starting the annual maintenance of my 89 Dolphin. One of the things that I believe might need attention is the front wheel bearings. I bought it from another individual out of state so, I don't know when or if they have been serviced. Does anybody know the part number for them? Are they different? I am thinking about just replacing them with new ones. Thanks for any info.
  4. I need to replace the vinyl strips that go into the metal moldings along the top of my 89 Dolphin. Can anyone tell me the correct width? Thanks
  5. markwilliam, Apparently my email didn't get to you. You did a beautiful job on that old warhorse!
  6. I bought mine at Best Buy and it works fine but the picture is bad.
  7. I have the 3.0 V6 in my Dolphin. Can anyone pinpoint the location for it? Thanks
  8. My 1989 Dolphin has a replacement V6 engine which is supposedly like the original one. I need to replace the oil sending unit and I am unsure which part number to buy. Any suggestions? Also, do all the V6 engines like mine require valve adjustment? Thanks
  9. Does anyone know the dimensions of the roof vents on an 89 Dolphin? My Toy roof is covered for the winter. Thanks
  10. Even though you have blown out the water lines and to be on the safe side, I would use the RV blend anti freeze. For sure, I woud ensure that the toilet valve is completely emptied of water. After losing two myself, I installed a flex line to the toilet allowing me to disconnect the line and empty the valve.
  11. Hi Hannah, Linda is the expert and her advice is solid.  I would just like to say that it is critically important that the screws that came out of the inside frame are all screwed back into the holes that they came out of. I had to remove my cab over window for repair and and one of the screws I thought was in the hole properly was not.  Sure enough, the first rain that came it started to leak because there was insufficient pressure at that point.  I reinserted and tightened the screw and the seal was good.  Good luck

  12. The wife and I were out Saturday and I saw one of these parked by an individuals garage. It looks very similar to the one pictured.
  13. Unlock the compartment that stores your electrical power cord. Once open look inside on the right side.
  14. This is a rebuilt engine, less than 10K miles. The valve cover gaskets were leaking but they have been replaced and there is no evidence of oil on the floor now. If the sending unit is in close proximity perhaps it did catch some oil from the leaky gaskets. I cannot remember what weight oil I used last time but I think it may have been 5W30 high mileage. It does not matter whether on a cold start or after the engine is warmed when it goes to idle, the oil light flickers. Not always but most times. When I push the accelerator light out and does not come back on.
  15. Recently, I have noticed my oil light flickers when idling. It never does it after acceleration or while driving. I have checked the oil level several times and it always shows full level. My engine is the 3.0 V6. Any ideas, thoughts or suggestions as to what the problem might be? I was thinking it might be the oil sending unit but I am not sure if it even has one.
  16. Don, I have had the same experience with folks asking questions, thumbs up and other kind words. A few years back, I was working on mine in the driveway when I was startled by a woman's voice outside the door. She was a realtor working the neighborhood and she said, "I have been looking for one of these, how much do you want for it?" I told her it was not for sale at which time she hit me with a barrage of questions about cost, gas mileage, recommended models etc. She took notes while we talked and I often wonder if she bought one?
  17. There is a listing for a 14' Dolphin on Craigslist in Springfield, Missouri. I have never seen one before. The thing looks good.
  18. I recently had my propane tank filled while on a trip out west. Once filled, I hooked it up and everything worked fine. When I returned home, I smelled gas while near the storage compartment. I turned OFF the flow at the tank and then flipped the switch to the Off position on the regulator. The indicator stayed Green rather than going to Red after several attempts. I can not get the regulator to the OFF position. I then attempted to disconnect the hose going to the tank. When I loosened it, a large amount of gas escaped so, I tightened it back. Any advice would be appreciated. If it is a faulty regulator, when can I buy one like the one presently there?
  19. Came in from fishing yesterday and no hot water. Turned switch on off back to on and it fired right up. This morning no hot water. went thru same procedure but a no go. Suggestions?
  20. I would like to replace the metal strips (moulding?) if possible, on both sides of the rear of my Dolphin. I would like to splice them in beginning at the roof top and extending down to where each ends just below the bumper. Is this possible? and, if so, where can I buy it. thanks
