  1. I put Plastic-dip on my Subaru front grill and it has held up for almost two years now. The only issues I see is I doubt you could apply graphics or vinyl to the pasti-dip, so it would be one solid color.
  2. Just about done with my complete restore on a 1989 Winnebago Warrior, here are a few pics.
  3. I am seriously considering plastic-dip in white, no risk and super easy to apply.
  4. I had brand new cushions made by a great online company called VSTAR Products, They have outstanding customer service and will work with you to get the shape and size perfect. I'm super happy with mine.
  5. I have twins 16 year old boys and a 8 year old daughter, they think our 1989 Toyota Warrior is the coolest thing in the world. Plenty of room for the entire family on road trips, sleeping is a bit tight but its the ultimate road trip vehicle. I have done some modifications to cater to my young family such as a Wii, built in LED monitor and gaming chair.
  6. I installed two Fantastic fans in my 1989 Warrior, I had to do a few modifications but it was no big deal.
  7. The ECT button will hold your RPM's higher before your rv shifts, this will help when climbing hills. I keep mine on all the time.
  8. Love the video, I spend my summers in Alaska and hope to drive my Warrior to Kasilof this year from Utah. Nice job on the rebuild!!
  9. I bought the "TireMinder" with six tire sensors used off Craigslist, they go for around $300.00 at camping world. I love it, I get real time psi and temp, plus warnings if my tires start to lose pressure or overheat. Its a great piece of mind. My rear view mirror is made by Boss and has Bluetooth built in plus the 4" screen. Again I love it, east to install and looks factory, I bought it off eBay for around $80.00. The rear view camera is a generic one off Amazon.com made by Sainspeed, it cost around $25.00. the IR sensors for night viewing are useless and I will be upgrading the camera soon.
  10. I picked it up off eBay for $18.00, I drilled a few holes and screwed it in.
  11. I just got done installing a double din stereo, back up camera mirror, tire pressure monitor, additional 12 volt connections, iPad mount and center console in my 1989 Warrior. I'm slowly dragging my baby into the 21st century.
  12. I've been trying for months now to track down an Aux fuel tank for my 1989 Warrior. I can't even seem to find a local place that would fabricate me one in Utah.
  13. I did the swap in my 1989 Warrior, it is a V6, auto. I went with 4.56 gears and the improvement was immediate and profound. Under 60mph the motorhome now feels like a regular truck in terms of acceleration. I can also maintain speed much easier in overdrive without the RV having to downshift. Hands down the best upgrade I've done so far.
  14. This may sound stupid but I never realized that I had seat covers in my Toyota RV. I have been shopping for new seats and even took out my old ones, I then noticed the seat covers, once I removed them I now have brand new seats!

New seats under my old seats!
  16. Thanks guys, I'm troubleshooting mine right now and wanted to make sure it was wired up correctly. Due to the age I opted to buy a replacement and upgrade my wiring to 4awg.
  17. I have my alternator connected to my battery and not to my isolator, is that correct? My setup goes.... 1. Alternator to truck battery..... truck battery to isolator..... isolator to house battery. So my isolator has one connection to the truck battery, another to the coach battery and the third to a ignition wire. Is this correct?
  18. Can you tell me what speed you kept the motorhome at to get your MPG?
  19. I agree with changing the gears, I just put in 4.56 in my 1989 Toyota Warrior, the improvement was major! I went from feeling like I was driving a overloaded Uhaul to feeling like I was driving around in a regular pickup truck. Best money I spent on the motorhome.... period.
  20. I am pretty much done with my 1989 Warrior restoration project so I figured it was time to take it on a road trip. I loaded Tater Tot (Our RV nick name) with food, water and all 8 of us. That would be me and my wife, our twin 15 year old boys, my 8 year old daughter, two dogs and our bird. We maintained an average speed of 70 mph and averaged 12 mpg; here are a few of my observations. 1. My alternator does not put out enough amps to keep up with our electrical load while driving. I may need to upgrade the alternator. We are running a 1000 watt pure sine inverter, the fridge on electric, charging two gaming laptops, powering a Wii gaming system, a small 10" LED monitor and a gaming chair. 2. With my new 4.56 gears I can cruise in overdrive at 70 mph with no down shifting on flat roads. On inclines I can maintain a minimum of 50 mph regardless of how steep the grade was. Anything over 70 mph required the overdrive to be off to maintain speed. Swapping out the gears made a huge difference in drivability, much better acceleration and cruising. 3. Our fuel tank is much too small for our driving habits, at 17 gallons we find ourselves stopping more often than we would like. We will be installing an auxiliary tank in the future. 4. My new electronic cruise control which replaced my broken vacuum cruise control works much better than the old one. Combined with 4.56 gears made it a pleasure to drive. 5. My new airbags combined with new Billsien shocks made for an extremely smooth and stable ride. Body roll was minimal and even in crosswinds I never felt uneasy. 6. Replacing the stock table leg with an aftermarket one was a great upgrade. It kept the table rock solid while driving so my kids could use their laptops without them vibrating all over the place. 7. My rear view mirror backup camera stopped working half way through the trip; I will need to check wire/cable connections tomorrow. 8. My AC shroud somehow broke loose in the front; it is still secured by the back two bolts to the roof bit is sitting askew. I will need to fix this tomorrow.
