Hi still waiting to see another toyota motorhome in uk. 6 dolphins that i know of. only two in scotland and i own one of them.

More info on exhaust. understand 2 1/4" is best diameter for exhaust and cats can be replaced with a freer flowing design. on another forum for hilux this has been quoted to improve hp and fuel efficentcity. cross over removal improves low end torque and helps with over heating of no6 cylinder which is one cause of hg failure

Driving Techniques For These Unique Motorhomes

Popeye sounds like tyres need a check or the lsbv on back axle. plenty of write ups on lsbv on this forum. -
Picked up 50 brand new carpet tiles free of charge for my toy.

Hi removed mine out of 1989 21ft dolphin. all i did was remove screws holding it on to wooden frame and man handled it through side door. weighs quite a bit. replaced it with 9mm cut to size and screwed on to frame left behind.

Hi drove my toy today as for noise mine seems quiet to everyone who has posted. main noise is from engine probably because i did air silencer delete. noise is not excessive just enough to allow me to adjust speed to suit road im driving on and auto gear changes. this will allow me to climb a 1 in 20 hill at 50mph without excessive noise and light throttle loading. wind noise is from a 40mph cross wind. toy not very twitchy.

Hi resale value will go on laws of supply and demand. toys in uk number single digits. prices go from £2000 up to £10000. Price does not dictate condition. last confirmed sale price (money paid) was £5500 for a 4 cyl on an 85 year. everyone in UK believe they are worth £10000. If you convert toy keep receipts of all work done. mine came in box with everything from 1989. Lpg checks repairs radio etc etc and every manual for all items and upgrades (better radio and airbags). Service records and same tyres fitted all round usually mean its been looked after.

Hi my trip to south of england cancelled until further notice (check bbc website). Our far north east corner has escaped the winter until last night. ground soft at 4pm by 10pm had frozen solid even my motorhome didnot leave wheel ruts. waiting to see if snow comes up as far as us. now sitting out next 24hours. today is dubbed wild wednesday by news casters. US storm is now heading NE towards UK and bringing more bad weather. Roll on march when met office thinks this constant roll of low pressures will end. then i can get down to some upgrades of my toy. ie new led lighting kitchen refurb (paint/cover) finish over cab bed extension. lay new carpet from drivers cab to bathroom remove roof aircon unit. seal roof and paint. Give roof a mini apex to help rain run off rather than pool. etc etc.

Hi Very good points made in all above posts. usually when i go to buy a new car to me i look at urban mpg. this hopefully will give me worse mpg figure that i will get and if that figure is acceptable to me then its not a reason not to look at car. been looking at motorhome mags in UK and modern up to date ones with diesel engines are lucky to see 30mpg (imperial). That gives food for thought. getting 20mpg imperial on a 24 year old motorhome doesn't seem so bad.

Hi not sure if you can get problem solving bushes in US. these are available in the uk as direct fit to toyotas and other makes. basically polyurethane bushes in two densities. Slightly harder than normal and heavy duty and are guaranteed for years. come in various kit forms starting with shock bushes right up to all bushes in suspension. would suggest heavy duty due to chassis being in fully loaded mode all the time.
