  1. I don't remember exactly how many leaves up front, 4 or 5? I think they're lift springs.
  2. Not specifically for the build but it has some pics on it. @lassonlasson
  3. No time to deal with it. I'm converting my other truck into a full time camper though, getting a custom aluminum Sunrader size shell built onto the frame.
  4. Hey everyone, this project is now for sale! Message me for details.
  5. Trailhead, got some pics of your Sunrader?
  6. Looks to me like they swapped on the door, fenders, and hood from a 4wd truck. I think maybe the 4wd fenders have an extra flare? Plus the decals.
  7. Does anyone know if this is a factory 4x4 Sunrader? I've never seen one with a first generation cab. I wonder if someone made it. Or did someone finally do the legendary 2wd to 4wd conversion?
  8. One micro step closer. Got a carport put up today and freed the rader from tarp hell!
  9. So sounds like a chinook camper wouldn't line up with a single cab longbed 85 4x4.
  10. Quick question, and I'm sure it's been answered here before, but are Chinooks built on long bed or short bed trucks?
  11. As for the injection pump I just had one rebuilt for $500. With normal use they're good for hundreds of thousands of miles.
  12. Actually the 3L diesel is just as common as the 1KZ, just a little bit older and not turbocharged. More similar to the 2L-T's that were sold here in the mid eighties. I did a swap for someone using that engine a bunch of years ago. It's probably the most common engine found in 90's hiluxes. Parts aren't that hard to get if you know where to look.
  13. Check this one out: https://medford.craigslist.org/cto/5156454367.html
  14. Yeah that is weird. What's the point of having a custom rim and adapter in the front if the rim doesn't even work in the back? Why not just use a stock rim?
  15. A few have been popping up lately, I even found one that was already a five speed. I pulled the underbody grey and black water tanks, now I need to get some more metal joists to prop the sagging floor up. Also need to make some roof arches and get them fiberglassed in.
  16. Well it's been a while but I'm finally getting around to this thing. Today I pulled the Chevy V6 and auto tranny and all its wiring. Hopefully I'll get that sold soon. Now I need to cut off the engine mounts and weld new ones in for the 3.0 Toyota diesel, then do some engine prep on it before I drop it in. Also have to re-convert it to a manual transmission, but that should be pretty easy since it was a manual originally. Don't know why the images are sideways and upside down.
  17. Well I'll be pulling the 4.3 V6 out of my Sunrader any day now if anyone's interested in it. I think it's pretty freshly rebuilt, too.
  18. My point is that I think it's very unlikely someone would go to the trouble of swapping out any of the common Toyota gear ratios when it's so much easier to just acquire a different third member. I've bought and sold many of them and 4.10's and 4.30's are very common.
  19. The paint tab is on the actual third member/differential carrier. Whether the member has been changed or not wouldn't affect that. Unless someone had a gear shop actually swap out the ring gear, which is pretty rare outside of the rockcrawler scene.
  20. The axle ratio can usually be determined from the paint code on the flange of the third member.
  21. There's also this brand new 1 ton rear axle for sale: http://medford.craigslist.org/pts/4865604300.html
  22. I just saw this on Craigslist in my area, it's not mine. http://medford.craigslist.org/cto/4885136301.html
  23. Just took a trip up to Washington, highway driving 60-70 mph., got around 18 mpg's. I normally get 24-25. That was on veggie oil, and I had 38 gallons of that plus a full tank of diesel.
