  1. I once had an Oldsmobile with a fully built 455 & 4 barrel carb. Going down the highway with a gentle foot I could get 21 mpg (like that happened very often. lol.) A lightly worked 350 may get better gas mileage than a maxed out 2.4 depending on your driving habits, I also had an all-wheel drive Chevy Astro, that frequently got 20 mpg on the highway. Your driving habits greatly affect the mileage.

I had a built to the tilt 396-ratt with a Predator 1200cc carb in my 67 Camaro was lucky to get 10mpg "she liked to drink"
  2. pulled out all the old tile & carpet & bought on Craigslist some laminate flooring
$30 for over 50sqft...(any one want some laminate in San Diego come get it)
the orig. carpet was just ugly.

My dog Roxy got hit by water bottles from a cupboard that I did not shut
it was loud and spooked Roxy more then anything

  4. When I 1st installed the flush floor base for table I drilled through the 1/8 floor & foam bottom I stopped when I got to second 1/8 plywood under foam the base didn't sit flush I used the carpet so it fit better just was not stable enough.

so I drilled through bottom 1/8 floor board and yup drilled all the way through couch

Im glad the gas tank was not flush with couch frame could of been real bad..

    going to seal with 3M5200..

is this a normal install when using a flush mount base?

  6. I would think rv manufacture 600lb is talking about supply weight not counting people..
Yes your going to pack light and find a way to utilize all storage space you have
for better mpg drive at 55mph that's the sweet spot for these rigs
for a hitch that depends what you have in the rear for support if its just a bumper and no frame work going to rear axel then its not a good idea...bumper wont hold up.. If you got some good support then I would say get a 500lb carrier and keep it under loaded..
the v6 have had recalls on the head gasket use your vin and see if fixed if not fixed replace head gasket & do a valve job.. Might be a good thing to do no matter what your rig has the miles on it for the valve job
    welcome and good traveling

  8. I will be traveling 1st time in my 85 Dolphin this summer from San Jose. We have many friends along the Mendicino coast to Eureka but would like to explore other less touristy areas, any suggestions or favorites in Calif. & Or.?

I have favs but all of mine are inland off the 395 of course the best is Yosemite but is like standing in line at Disneyland in summer

Bishop is great lots of fishing..

just google private & city camp sites might help finding good park

always read camp site reviews a lot of camp sites have a great web site but a rv park look or not kept up..

look for pics and vid of campsites.. http://www.campsitephotos.com/campground-directory

  9. So glad you didn't get seriously hurt. That looks like it could have been bad. How did that lake get full. Even with the rain we have had up north here no reservoir is even close in Northern Cal.
