  1. Great blog Timmy! I camp a lot during the winter and some of these tips even help the non full-timers like me. Cheers! Gary
  2. The site is infected, sites linked there are scammers. Take care!l
  3. Yes, Usually the summer months, specifically during the 4th of July.
  4. We will in about 5 years. Japan makes them for their market and uses their own people to test them. Japan is a testing ground for all their new products and takes time to make it to the world. I'm still amazed at seeing all the beer vending machines over there. No way that would fly here in the states.
  5. The family took a Thanksgiving vacation trip out to Banks Lake in Electric City. We took I-90 East across Snoqualmie pass, highway 28 through Ephrata, highway 17 past Lenore Lake. Finally over to Coulee Blvd (highway 155) to Electric City/Grand Coulee Dam. Gas was cheap compared to the city, especially around Ephrata. We stayed with friends on Banks Lake. There are plenty of camp sites available along all the lakes in the area. Here are some pictures. Stella and Leif. Brother and sister, 4 months old. First trip in the Toyhome. 7. If only I had a spare Toy to experiment with. Given that lately I changed a bad thermostat only to bust a stud while trying to remove the cap. Yeah something so easy gets so complicated. I'm not going to take a chance with an ECM that seems to work just fine. I do admit though I think it's a cool little gadget.
  8. No EFI marker on the cab window trim, could be a 22-R.
  9. Greg $750 is an outrageous cost for a forum over that time. I host a collector forum, no ads and unlimited space for less than $50 per year. Generous donations cover that, so free for everyone. I run Fudforum and host @dreamhost.com. I run a local test forum of the same at home so folks can test new changes that come about.
  10. I got a chuckle after clicking that link.
  11. Maybe air in the propane line, light a burner and purge any air. Also plug her into shore power and see if it runs via AC. Good luck!
  12. $75 of the registration is only 1/3 of the cost here in the west, highway and transportation fees take up the other majority. Flip of the coin is what life is right? -Grass is greener on the other side or -Don't know what you got till it's gone! In the end let's hope John sticks around and gives us that great technical advice we need on our Toys!
  13. John, Would it be too expensive for you keeping it? Yes 6 grand is a good down payment on a bigger rig but are there any situations were you would rather drive a toy? Some points on why I'm not upgrading at this time: - Cost of registration based on gross vehicle weight. Currently mine is $75.00 extra per year. A bigger rig could easily double that. - Insurance currently is $10.00 per month. A bigger rig would probably triple that depending on the year and make. - Gas, well we sorta know that one. - Storage, If upgrading I would probably have to store my rig off-site due to the size. Guessing an extra $50.00 per month. Cheers!
  14. John, What do you plan on getting? I do think about upgrading to a larger unit myself but something keeps me grounded to my Toy. Time will tell. Good luck sir! Gary
  15. Bob, Just like Bill mentions in his post above we are carrying a grumbler in our profile that is monitored by the moderators (police). The moderators would be the only ones to see them on their request, just like the German police did to their citizens. German citizens wouldn't ask to see their brethren papers, just as members here would not want to see other members points, only the moderators. I have to agree this warning point category makes gives the member community a sense of a police state. That aside the community at invisionpower, the ones who develop this software, are having a rough time dealing with this category. They cannot roll-back the points once they are given. One member has a solution but is charging money for the modification. To me it looks like a nightmare to moderate. I reckon our moderators no little about it and will probably leave alone due to it's complexity. I have to live with what goes here at the forum, when you look at the post 911 vision of us, we are all terrorists. Cheers! Gary
  16. Hello Lola, We're here in the Northwest too. My RV sits outside and I run it pretty much all year, at least until the end of December then a tarp goes over the top only (not the sides) for a couple of months. If I'm not moving it I will start it up once a week for 10 minutes and let it warm up. I do put RV anti-freeze in my fresh-water tank. I fill/rinse the tank couple of times in the spring with a shot of clorox bleach. The hot water tank is drained and bypass valve is shut off, no anti-freeze is put in this tank. I rarely use my fresh tanks for drinking water, I take a couple jugs of house tap water for that. If I do use the tank water it gets boiled for coffee or I use it to rinse after brushing, just because I'm lazy to go grab the fresh jug. Stores around here always have a winter sale of windshield washer fluid for 99 cents a gallon. I use a jug of this for flushing the toilet waste during the winter. Lessens the chance of ending up with a poopcicle. I also keep an oil filled heater inside that stays on 7x24. Neighbors always ask why the RV windows never frost. I have a Dri-Z-Air unit that collects moisture. BTW- Pink is cool!
  17. Yes I guess your right about countries like Japan. Here a picture from a do-it-yourself hardware store in Japan. Notice the Mobile brand. Funny to see Toyota, Valvoline and Nissan advertise synthetic. Makes you wonder... Max Factory Oil, ha! The make-up like oil to give a new face-lift to your engine.
  18. Here is an app that finds those ethanol-free stations. http://pure-gasoline.com/
  19. Take a string and put in a can of Crisco. That will last about a month. ;-)
  20. Sounds like the best option to me. Great suggestion WME!
  21. Agree with you there Linda! Does your team plan to use this function at all? Anyway enough yapping from me on this. Gotta get back to talking about Toyhomes, that is where the value is. Cheers! Gary
  22. Considering you travel with your Toyhome, chances are you will end up with ethanol in your tank whether you like it or not. I guess find one nearby and minimize it the best you can.
  23. Seems there are many out there who view this as being negative, freedom of speech, etc... Note administrators can disable it for IP board for which this forum runs on. Also this option has been around for awhile so the forum administrator probably enabled it. http://community.invisionpower.com/topic/359235-warning-points/
