That sounds like a fabulous trip. I'm jealous! I have several teacher relatives and I've always felt they waste so much of their summers. My wife and I would love to be able to take an extended trip like that. Where did you stay mostly? Did u do it with as little $ as possible? We would like hear more if you get time.

Wow a terrible tragedy. Wasn't anything the driver could do in this case but a reminder to me to drive my "Flo" carefully. It won't hold up to much of an impact.

We are taking ours out for the first time this weekend to see what we've forgot and to get used to it. No grandkids yet just me and wife. It's 105° this weekend but we are still anxious to go.

Thanks guys for all the info. I have the confidence now to do this job! My left side bag is leaking but I'm gonna go ahead and replace both. I just bought a '85 Sunrader and the last maintenance entry for the bags was 1997. I'll let you know in the coming weeks how it goes. On a auto mechanical scale from 1-10 I'm probably a 4. Something always seems to cause a hangup.

Thanks everyone for the advise. I gave up on traveling far. We decided on a '85 Sunrader that we had looked before it was fairly local (60 miles). We pick it up this evening and are so excited. I want to make some changes on the inside so I'm sure to need more help. I gotta get it ready for a fall trip to Arkansas!!

I've been lurking on the board for weeks and learning about Toyota rv's. I think I'm ready to buy. I found '85 Dolphin that looks good but it's 1000 miles away. How many of you drove a great distance to get yours? Did you have trouble bringing it home? Did anyone drive a long way and then not purchase it? Also, it needs roof A/C and a new fridge but seems to me if I can get the price right that's not a bad thing. Is my wife right? Am I crazy?
