  2. 1979 toyota dolphin battery smells like its over charging low on fluids new alternator new battery, battery isolator bypassed, after two or three days battery dies but if i pull the cable it doesn't die, but still overcharges. Thanks, -Larry

  5. you guys got me thinking so i went and checked the pump.i cant read anything except that it says for a 6 cyl.it has the stock carb.i will look for another pump thats better matched to my 4 cyl. thanks
  6. i have a 79 dolphin that had a fuel pump problem.i installed an electric pump on the fender well.it does pull fuel through the old pump.my gas guage works.but the gas mileage suffered badly.i now get approx. 12 mpg.but it does run.
  7. derek is correct. in the 79 dolphin both batteries were under the hood.the one on passenger side starts the engine the other for the coach.if you plug into 120 volts you can work on it without battery.

  9. the ground wire has been bolted to the frame and was working fine. the black wire goes all the way to the rear wheel then into the house but i cant find it to continue tracing
  10. ok went for a little winter fishing trip and the lights just went out.battery is fine.works when plugged in.traced the wire from the battery to the back wheel area then it disappears into the house and i cant find out where it goes. also rewired the ground connection.i cant find any fuses except the one in the ground wire. its a 1979 dolphin. any ideas??? larry
  11. just figured out with some great help from here that i need a 1979 toy dolphin battery isolator. not having much luck locating one any ideas?? thank you larry
  12. thank you got side tracked for a few days but went out to the toy and bypassed the isolator. it was the one with the fins you mentioned. it now charges the truck battery just fine.will get isolator and be great. again thanks to all that posted. i love this forum larry
  13. 1979 toy dolphin battery not charging took alt. to auto parts and tested it twice and its good. both batteries are about brand new.any advice where i look next.someone suggested the regulator but from what ive read so far the isolator has been mentioned.need help on this one thanks larry

  15. i mentioned the lighter because in the wiring diagram it looks like lighter runs off the aux. battery.wthe relay. thank youhy would it work with the aux battery removed as well as lights.the answer you gave sounds good i will check out the relay. thank you
  16. i have posted about this before. 1979 dolphin. the lights in the cabin all work when plugged using the convertor. when i switch over to 12v they dont work.i looked at the wiring diagram from this site and this is what i have.i have 2 brand new batteries.but i ran the motor home on one and all the lights worked and cigarette lighter.i didnt have the cables hooked up at all.are the lights supossed to work like this.the diag. shows cigarette lighter is run off aux. battery?maybe previous owner has rigged up something.i am checking the wiring but want to know what you folks think about it. thanks
  17. 1979 dolphin. the striping around the cabin is quite faded.i would like to paint them, they are the brown and sort of orange color.also they are not smooth like a wood grain. any ideas? thanks

  19. i know i read about this before. i was looking at some leaf spring helpers to give the rear of my 1979 dolphion a little lift. do these actually help?any recommendations. thanks
  20. the spot comes from the tailpipe out of the side. also uses no oil or do i have to add coolant.yes it runs great.it does get lousy gas mileage though.like 10 per gallon.
  21. hello again. have 1979 toy dolphin with 20r engine.it has about 78k on it. when i start it up it will leave a black carbon looking spot in driveway. after 2-3 minutes it stops and no more driveway stains. any ideas. thank you d g

  23. looking for some reasonably priced camp grounds in the loveland/fort collins colorado area.what ive found is either way too expensive or do not allow older rvs in.i found two that were350 a month but denied me because of the age of camper. i have a 1979 dolphin.she is in great shape. so any info would be appreciated. thank you larry
  24. i have a 1979 dolphin. the 12v lights and pump do not work.when i hook up to 120v every thing works fine.any information i find doesnt talk about the dolphin that i have. i have checked all fuses under dash and most wires i can find. is there a fuse that controls the 12v system when running on the battery? thanks larry
