Yesterday I installed a 19" LED Sceptre TV in the Sunrader. I install the TV on the back side of the closet. Because of the thin walls on the closet a backer plate was installed using 3/4 plywood. While I was at it I also changed out the 12v receptacle and add another receptacle next too tank gages. These 12v receptacle's were purchase on ebay and are waterproof motorcycle receptacles. Sell for around $5 including shipping.

My problem was my gray tank is located just behind the spare tire. There was no way to get a tire tool to lower the tire when needed. I removed the tire hoist and welded a 1" socket to the hoist where the slotted tire tool use to attach. With a 3/8 extention attached to the welded socket the tire can now be raised or lowered with a rachet wrench. I still have to crawl under the truck to get the tire lowered but with the use of the extention and rachet job is much easier.

1986 Toyota Odyssey To Restore In Maine (Noob Seeks Advice)

Car Fax work for me. Thanks Craig -
Yesterday and today I worked on the bathroom replacing toilet, towel bar, shower drain, medicine cabinet, spray nozzle and installed additional entrance handle at door. The medicine cabinet is a standard house cabinet fits right in the hole. The old towel holder and soap dish were rusted. I needed more room to dry towels. The toilet is a Dometic 310 China bowl bone in color. Old toilets water shut off valve needed replacement, I just didn't like color and height of old toilet. Install job is a 5 min job. Toilet drops right in. Before installing new toilet I wanted to remove and replace shower drain. Old drain was corroded, didn't look nice and clean. I cut the retaining nut with my high speed grinder from topside. New bar sink drain was purchased at Lowes. The new drain has a strainer basket and was a better deal than the tub drains. When installing new drain you can only use one hand laying on your back. The only problem I encountered with the drain R/R was disconnecting the P-trap, I got a face full of gray water laying on my back. I have never liked where shower valve is located in the small bath, will be moving valve soon. Valve is located too close your knees when setting on the John. Any ideas on new valve location.

Tell us more about your new 12v Fridge. -
I install an LED light strip with 300 led lights that are multicolored under my upper cabinets in the Sunrader. Kit comes from China with light string and remote. I was not impress with the 3m tape used on the string of lights, had to add my own double sided tape to get string to stick. Time will tell

I have started shopping for a TV for the RV. Needs to be 12v. Can anyone make a recommendation from past experience? Thinking along the lines of a 15"-19" TV.

My airconditioner shroud was in need of repair, two large cracks in the front and stress cracks around attaching points. I fiberglassed the two large cracks and glassed over the attaching points to build the area up where the bolts went through the shroud for attaching. Took me more that a week to get the job done, between glassing, bondo and paint. I used interlux brightside marine paint with two coats. I didn't want to buy a new shroud because I don't know how long my a/c is going to last. I have some major rust on components on the A/C and hope to get a couple more years out of the unit.

Does a gutted sunrader project have any value?
Roy in Jax replied to runfromturtles's topic in General Discussion
I looked at one in Georga that needed a rearend and was qutted. The owner ask me the same question. I thought the fiberglass shell was worth $300-500 if I was going to do a transplant. -
The alignment shop said they could not do the alignment until balljoints were replaced. Rubber boots were bad. Balljoint looked like the originals. I did check for rattles and excess movement, I could not tell any difference. I do know when the truck went over curbs to roadway, there was a grinding sound.

Yesterday we were able to change out the control arms and balljoints on the Nissan Sunrader. While we were under the vehicle working off the ground I decided to also replace tie rods while in the area. What a pain in the butt, we had all the tools we needed. The job would have been much easier if the vehicle was on a lift. The torsion bars were a little tricky, I had never had to remove and make adjustments to the bars before. Going to take vehicle to the alignment shop in the morning for final alignment.
