  1. I have about the same unit mileage sounds about right, mine averages overall about 13.75 not towing and using the OD when ever possible. The Trans dip stick is a pain mine's not twisted to much but I pay attention how it come's out putting it in I have the loop facing the right side when its all the way in its down with the latch.
  2. I would 1st thing checking the roof & windows for leaks. The V6 has comments about head gasket leaks which most were taken care off by a recall. The mileage you mentioned is really low should be in good shape. Mine is the same model with 87000 miles and still going strong.
  3. Elevation doesn't affect mine its a V6 I did have a temp sensor connection cause it not to work there are two sensors top of eng close to firewall in the middle don't remember which one but just cleaning the plug worked
  4. From what you are saying is it the cover for the AC ? mine was cracked I used a fiberglass kit from a auto parts store to repair it and bolted in on a little differently didn't look perfect but probably stronger than original, can't see it from the ground anyway.
  5. Mine is a lot newer it started getting hard to get in gear and sometime's jumping out of gear,at first I thought it was something big but it was just some of the bushings right where the shift lever comes out of the trans I did everything from inside the cab,it didn't even have much slop but the bushings made all the difference.
  6. Some reuse the crush tube take a hammer and tap were the bulge is on the tube to get it to stretch out (longer) then reinstall set the preload, big job.
  7. We had the same gasket problem for years when asbestos was no longer available this was on air compressors ,finally started using a grafoil material that worked. The v6 toy I have has a timing belt.
  8. http://www.toolsource.com/japan-toyota-c-8...32_834_840.html There are several tools here that will do what you want cheapest one about $8.00, one to just compress the bucket to have access to the shim don't try to turn the eng over with shim out cam will hit side off bucket. The check you did with no clearance there's probably something happened to the valves. If you end up removing the heads get good gaskets and there's a water passage that can be blocked if gaskets are mixed up or turned over I don't remember.Check your exhaust manifolds also if warped they can be machined.
  9. My V6 had a bent valve and out of adj to tight 76000 mi I had both heads re done also pulled the pistons everything else showed very little wear,it was done in the veh the crossover from the exhaust manifolds was hard to get too. I've heard some negative's about the v6s rumors get started then blown out of proportion.
  10. Mine's a 92 winnie It squeeks where it meets the cab I've sprayed WD40 around where the gasket meets the cab stops it for awhile.
  11. Mine's a 92 V6 there's a temp sensor close to the firewall that won't allow it to shift if cold also on this forum they mentioned something to do with elevation above 3000ft not shifting??,this one doesn't apply to mine as where I go its always more than 3000ft.
  12. My 92 Winnie has a off/on switch under the wall thermostat & a valve down close to the furnace also, heats ok uses a lot of battery overnight and makes a lot of noise .
  13. If the 22r has a alumiun head there's a tap and screwin insert (kit) that seems easer then a heil coil to repair the hole the shavings if Alumium should blow out just cranking it or pack in some cotton cord and pull out shavings after doing the job.
  14. I have a 92 winnie 21f with the overhang in the back long way from the rear axel to the back the extented frame is light channel rough roads,??? it has about 90,000 still going strong.
  15. I've heard the subject mentioned, mine is a 92,that had a bent valve so I had both heads off its a job the cross over from the exhust manfolds hard to get to but it can be done,I didn't know about the headgasket issue at the time probably got blown out of proportion I used a genric gasket set if I had known about the issue would have used the best, since its been done haven't had any problems. Check with the dealer it would give you a idea. Tom
  16. I have the same unit as yours taking the gen out not that bad had mine out to work on it. As to the hitch take a look at the frame on the back end all I have is the spare tire the extended frame looks weak to me tried to think how to rienforce it,would have to go back to the axel to do any good. good luck!!!
  17. It also depends on the size of your AC mines only 7000 BTU with the converter & Ac it only pulls 9 amps even on startup its not too high, but where it live don't have to worry about the AC cycling much, lights and water pump don't pull much.I don't use the micro oven & ac at the same time. Even the gererator is only 2500 watts good for about 20 amps max.
  18. The 2cyl Onan on a welder I have I put a kit(diaphrams) in the fuel pump mechanical. The gen in the MH Kohler uses a electric pump very small inline when I shut it off I hear it run for a few seconds I would check with a small eng Shop or search on line,I can see one advantange with the Mechanical when the eng stops it stops ,elec ? maybe low oil cutoff involved. Tom
  19. 92 winnie v6 I get 13.75 average, so going out 13.75 and returning home 13.75 I guess that come's to 27.5
  20. I've driven the 22r but not in a motor home, mine's a v6 Winne 21ft as to the fiberglass or some kind of plastic sides it seems like people think thier better than aluminum.
  21. I have a 91 v6 I purcased it a couple of years ago it had about 80,000 shortly thereafter found a bent valve ,so I decided to go through the eng bearings rings etc, which it didn't need ,found everthing else in like new condition no wear to speak of. Why the bent valve don't know maybe someone down shifted going to fast ???. Appears to be a good eng to me. I saw one that someone had driven across country they purchased it with 110,000 said it was doing fine.
  22. I saw a 92 with a v6 that had a auto that had been changed to a 5 speed the guy said it turned out with more usable power and he used the same rearend, one thing I didn't ask about is what the computer would think with no auto?????????
  23. As to the cruise control & all the above works on mine but I've decided not to use the cruise it would cause it to shift too much, mine has some sensors, soleniods and probably a relay for the OD hope I never have to deal with It.
  24. Large diesel trks We used to try to keep it 1200f or under, that was before aftercoolers with a turbo the probe was mounted usually before the turbo. Some of the engs with no turbo would go 1400/1500f pegged as I rember and a ball of fire visable out of the stack at night without the turbo we didn't worry about it much.
