  1. Mechincal fuel pump Thanks I'll try today. If its cheap I was going to get a new fuel pump, for sure I'm getting a new fuel filter and just tried to take off the PVC valve, Won't come out! Whats the trick? Oh and cracked the little plastic ring around it trying to pull up and use a screw driver to pry up, hope that doesn't make a differents? Never got it off! Got pissed, did put a hose on it and blow in to it and sucked on it. Couldn't blow any air in to it but could suck air out. Is that the right way its works? Seems like the book says its the other way? But its was still on the truck. I'm sorry, I'm not good at all with motors and don't know what I'm doing or really know too much on how they work. Very stressed right now about this. Oh changed the accelerator pump and AAP and looked at the other diaphragm, looked ok, couldn't get off with the carb still on truck. Wish me luck and hope I don't kill myself.
  2. Oh its a 22R I don't think its the choke cause I hear that its on when it starts, and its still hard to start when warm. I'll try the fuel pump. Don't really know how to check other then take it apart and see if any things broke. Yes my battery is pretty dead, but everytime I start it I jump it so it should start.
  3. Ok, I have a 4 cyl, 18' sunrader. Runs good when warmed up (10min), problem is I have to crank it over for 8 seconds, 4 or 5 times to get it to start, with a jump start. I changed the accelerator pump on the carb and some other rubber bladder thing. I was told it was probably the accelerator pump, helped, down to 8 seconds crank 1 or 2 times or so... not right. Oh and its hardest to start when its cold of course but when its warm its hard to start too, I could turn it off for 3 seconds then try it and carnk for 8 sec. before it starts. When its cold it will hesitate if I give it too much gas but when warm runs strong. Whats wrong? Vacuum leak? What should I check? Please help me!
  4. Well that suck that mine didn't have it. No problem I'm going to make my sink go into a 4'' leach line to the street. Only water... Is there any composting toilets that use no power? Trying to get around the emptying black water, 10 mile trip one way from the beach + $10 or $20 to dump.
  5. Oh, really? I don't really know what I'm talking about, just know that sunrader calls there 18'er a 17' An 81 what?
  6. Yea cool. Anyone know if urethane foam (yellow stuff) is better or styrene foam (white stuff)? Couldn't figure out that R value thing when I looked at it either... maybe I'm stupid i don't know.
  7. It would be the same as if your clean out "U" thing got clogged.
  8. Thanks so much! I'm going to be putting in this week. Yea I think I will go with what you said WME thanks. With the tin foil I'm going to put on both sides it should be very good. Haha I'm going to be living in it at the beach in So Cal. Not like its bad weather...
  9. Yea droped my tank, that was a pain, all cleaned up and back in now, took day and a half, strapped it with hot water heater/pipe strap. That thing has a crap load of strap under there now, the two original, two making an X across them and two looping around the ends. It not going anywhere now! Thanks for the pics, looks like the older one you have would leach if you had it full past that pipe.
  10. Yea but after looking a it I would have to go under the axle to get back there and doesn't look like it will work. How long does it take for one person to fill up a black water tank (no sink water in it)? A week? And on the 18' raders does the sink just drain on the ground? Mine had no grey water tank in it?
  11. I had my holding tank out today on my 18' rader and was thinking, this doesn't look like a big tank, from what I can tell its only a 10 gal. I was thinking of getting a maybe a 10 gal. and putting it where the spare tire is and linking them together thur the clean outs with a "T". Would this work? It seems like if it has a vent on the tank it will full.
  12. I think its ok, not that I really know what I'm talking about but I think its just a stock axle. So I would think about it as don't load it down more then you would a toyota pickup.
  13. Not all one piece, its made like the rest, and they are "17" really 17'8'' or something like that.
  14. Wait wait, if your rear axle weight was 3500lb or less taking off the duals is safer? Is that true? I'm doing the samething to a 18' 82 sunrader with 5 lug.
  15. Yea I got a new toilet seal, I'm thinging thats going to seal. I was talking about the threaded cap that goes on to the tank tube. I was told today use a very little bit of silicone on the top of the threads. And yea, showers gone. Going to raise floor to where shower was. Oh and yea venting pipe is cut on mine already, may drop the tank.
  16. What do you seal the toilet threaded cap (that you set your toilet on) to the threaded holding tank with? Looks like they just put it on dry... I was thinking of silicone, would that make it too hard to hard to ever get off again? The holding tank on my sunrader is strapped on to the motorhome very crappy with hotwater heater strapping. Is that stock?
  17. And I thought I was off the wall with some of my stuff I wanted to do to mine (fire place, decking on the roof, ext...). That would be sweet if you could get it to work. But would you cook from the top down? that would be different... So thats the 26x17 vent your talking about. You can buy a one burner that screws on to one of thoses little green propane bottles for portable camping/cooking, very cool looking, I just found out about them. You could take out the stove, box in with ply wood and cut hole in the top and just drop it in, and have more storage. If you make it up here we have a winch to take off the AC Heres a link too the 1 burner: http://www.etailelectronics.com/Merchant2/...tore_Code=etail
  18. Yea you can't drive with the dualys touching.
  19. I've got a Sunrader ladder and fuse box inverter I took out of my motorhome (not going to use). I don't know if it works of not, never used, but it should. Oh and 3, 14 1/4'' vents and one vent dome thing (like a Max Air). Had a bunch more stuff but I chucked them already. Temecula CA, 92592. PM me if you want them.
  20. Yea, I heard that someone on here raised there sunrader roof. I tried searching for it a couple of nights ago but can never get anything from the "Search", I'll try again. I got my roof all back on and glassed, I'll post a pic later (on my laptop). Wow its tall! It looks like a beast now!
  21. I'm almost ready to put new insulation in my Sunrader and was going to use this 3M 4x8 sheet of... well is that yellowish foam with blue plastic on both sides. Looks good to me? It seems like it's that or the white Styrofoam. Any other options? I'm going to put tin foil on both sides of it. What has anyone else used?
  22. I guess you can get it at Home Depot, Its for semtic tanks. Its bacteria that breaks the stuff down/eats it, like probiotics. Haven't got that far yet myself...
  23. Thats pretty crazy about taking the whole thing off the frame. Hope it doesn't fall apart haha... 30 years old. When I jacked it up nothing moved. Only thing that happend was the whole side of the motorhome came off the ground. Yea the wheel wells are made kicked down like that I think?... You have an 18'er right? I think the 21'er do have a brace like that on the roof from some other picture I've seen of them. Yea I would brace the crap out of it if you have an A/C on top. Yes I did do all new framing on the inside (not that they had any). The only place there is bracing in on the roofs, 5/8 ply strips. Looks like they flipped it over and resined it up and slapped them on! Holds strong... Me, I Bonbo-ed them on, Works good, pretty strong. The walls are way stronger now!!! For the roof I'm going to brace it with three 1 3/4'' x 3'' wood beams over the real wood paneling like an open beam ceiling. Should be very cool looking inside. I've got a 45 watt solar panel from Harbor Freight $179 on sale! 30lbs thats going on top and thats it. Really good quality too...
