  1. No one has an opinion on this question? Darn! Well, I am writing to the nearby Toyota Dealership and see what they say.
  2. What's your opinion? I bought my 6V 94 Warrior in Jan of 2013, it had 55K on it and had been stored under cover in central Florida and sat for 8 years. The head gasket, timing belt, valve adjustment, etc (lots of etc) had just been done and then they parked it. I have the paperwork. All done by a Toy Dealership. My question is...... shouldn't the timing belt be changed every 10 years irregardless of how many miles on it? I've put 30K on it.......should I do the usually 60K maintenance? Valve adjustment, water pump, hoses and belts? And what about the spark plugs and wires? Anything else? I put new tires on it right away and recently replaced the fuel tank due to interior rust.
  3. Turned out the part about doing it when it was hot was just a coincidence. The real clue was that it did it when the gas tank was less than half full. My gas tank, pump and filter had to all be replaced due to incredible rustiness. The inside of the tank was so bad it couldn't even be flushed. I saw it.
  4. Figured out it only did it when gas tank was below half. Mechanic said clogged fuel filter (showed it to me) and replaced that. Said if it happens again I should have the tank flushed out and new pump put in but he doesn't have that much time in schedule until next week. And I want to get out of Tuscon! Drove better, but only went 20 miles. I will know more when I hit the road.
  5. So I am trucking along just fine and all of a sudden my engine starts stuttering or bucking. I can still drive but very little power on acceleration. Stop and revs fine in park or neutral. If I let it set for even a short time then it goes normal again. That is until a bit later. One time I could only go 20 mph. Started yesterday. Put in dry gas and premium gas but still did it after running around town on a hot day. I am in Tuscon. 94 V6 with 80k. CEL never came on. Any ideas would be appreciated.
  6. Yeah, I was one of those Hippies. Lived at Frog Run Farm Commune in E. Charleston. There was a Glover commune too.
  7. I am from the Northeast Kingdom.....who are all these other folks?? I don't see many Toy Motor Homes up there. Of course I am only around in the summer now that I am full time. I've lived in Newport, Island Pond, E. Charleston, Derby Line, Salem Derby, Holland. Love it there, but the lure of the open road...... Back to the Burlington Rally....three of us showed up, but it was great. Right on the beach, right on the bike path, right on the bus line, nice sites. We had a blast.
  8. I am a full timer and boondock a lot, so keep that in mind. My present 12v just barely fits in the exterior vented battery compartment. But right behind and a bit above is the underneath of my dinette bench seat. I have plenty of room there. Plus my inverter and controller are under the table so that makes wiring simple. Thanks for all your advise. I think I am learning more than I ever wanted to know! But better to be an informed customer.
  9. That's my point.....I need to install them where gassing off would be a problem.
  10. How do I find this information? The guy who will do the install said the new 6v's are "394 minutes at 25 amps" whatever that means.
  11. I am doing some research and need some advice on batteries. I have solar, 135W roof panel and my coach battery is starting to go. It is a 12v AGM about 7 years old. I am thinking of getting two 6v AGMs. What would you recommend? Any particular place to buy? My controller is 35 amp and my inverter is 800W. Oh, and my rig still has the original converter and it runs for hours and hours when I hook into shore power after boondocking for a week or two. Should I get a switch installed to turn it off? Seems to me as long as the sun is shining I don't need it. Thanks for any help! Chris - 1994 Warrior
  12. 1991 V6 19' Toy. Friend wants to pull 5x8 enclosed trailer with motorcycle etc full time. Comments please. Anyone with real life experience?
  13. I need to replace my Suburban DD 17DSI. Mechanic suggested the NT20SE. Any thoughts? For my 94 Warrior.
  14. I think he put the same kind of oil in it as he put in my engine
  15. No, I always make sure my tank is half or more when I do this. Do you know if I need to screw the oil dipstick all the way in to check the oil level? I am thinking maybe there is too much oil in it.
  16. Do I check it with the dipstick screwed all the way in place (which is difficult to do) or just as it sets on top of the hole? I think it may be overfull.
  17. I have a 2800 Onan generator in my 94 Warrior. Once a month I turn it on and put a load on it for about an hour. I rarely actually need it. The last time I did this all was well for about an hour and then all of a sudden it started coughing or fluctuating wildly to where it almost cut out. The voltage meter in the rv was going craZy. Would the guy who changed the oil in it have done something wrong? Cause that had just happened. Any other thoughts?
  18. OK......there are 3 holes, right? The hot knob, then the faucet and then the cold knob. So......what do I measure from/to? Knob to knob it is 8". Sorry for my density.
  19. What is this 4" and 8" thing? The one I have measures 8" from faucet to faucet, this one doesn't say. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Unbranded-2-Handle-Bar-Faucet-in-Polished-Chrome-3310-140-CH-B-Z/203875360
  20. I have been living in my Toyota MH since 2008. I travel a lot, usually a few weeks or maybe a couple months in this area or that of the USA. 4 months is the most in any one spot. National forests are wicked cheap, plus I have lots of friends who enjoy having me park with them, then there is BLM land out West. I am retired, so not in the same situation as you. Plus I have solar and that increases my options. Not sure what other information you are looking for, feel free to contact me for specific answers. Oh, as for my daily Yoga......I use the grass or a nearby picnic table in a public park.
  21. I need a new one, mine won't turn off so can't hook up to shore water, but just use my holding tank and pump. Where do I buy one?
  22. I checked out the owner's FB page and saw a lot of photos of him, lots of them where he was in tye dye, him and his wife, etc. Yes, there was one with a gun. Hard to judge someone on the basis of one photo. I have good friends whose FB page contain such photos and yet I know them to be good people. I couldn't see other members personal information or friend's list just because I am a member of this Toyota Club, not unless I have accepted them as a friend. That said, I admire you for trusting your instincts.
  23. Over on Face Book there is a Toyota Motorhome page with over 100 members and growing daily. Please join. We have organized a Rally for this summer the week of August 3rd in Burlington Vermont right on Lake Champlain and the bicycle path. Here is the website, everyone is responsible for making their own reservations. http://www.enjoyburlington.com/NorthBeach/NorthBeachCampground.cfm You don't have to be a member of FB to come!
