  1. I don't need lug nuts I need a tire iron. I tried to buy a 15/16 one online and it is a little small...they sent a 22mm instead, saying it was equivalent
  2. Okay, apologize for off thread, but not sure where else to post. I just bought a 22mm tire iron, and the nut only goes maybe 1/3 the way into the tire iron. I thought I was getting a 15/16 iron, but alas no... Any wisdom on tire irons? 15/16 seems a tough find
  3. By the way you have been such a wonderful giving resource through with this process over these last two years and I am just wanting to say another thank you
  4. Alas, there are no O'Reilly Auto parts stores within 50 mi of manhattan, it would seem. But if I take that part number to any Auto parts store, I'm good, right? Also, when you say left handed does that mean that I am turning it right to loosen it?
  5. I don't know what three or six hand is it's six lug nuts in the back here's a picture of it with the wheel off if that helps?
  6. Okay, I was afraid of that. Very glad I checked Here are some pictures, they weren't changed, because I didn't have the parts and was stuck down in Florida and there was enough drum for me to make it home and just replace the drums here. It had thrown a shoe on the left side and with the new shoes it was driving acceptably
  7. okay. So I have the pads and rotors for the front that I'm going to replace myself, and someone replace the shoes in the back already, but in replacing the shoes I found out that I'm definitely going to have to replace the drums as well. When I call autozone, they give me a part number 3555 for 298 mm I can't tell if that says 298 mm in there, I can't imagine what else it would say I am told that the part number I quoted above doesn't match and so I'm curious. I have a 1983 sunrader, by the way
  8. can you confirm that 14 inch tires are what is needed? Because the only ones that they have are 16 inch in an 8 ply
  9. Ok, I definitely need two new front tires and one new back tire and the rest are good for a little while. The only thing is that some of the tires in the back are 185 and some are 195 are 185 better to get?
  10. Yes, I was afraid of that. Thank you for your help
  11. So the way you are talking about this, it seems I'm going to have to get it up hoisted two times once to remove the gas fill hose to get it ordered, and then again to replace it?
  12. I am replacing the LED replacement lights with trailer lights because the LEDs aren't getting because the LEDs aren't getting to ground Sorry that wasn't clear
  13. I want to replace the tail lights wiring entirely though so I would start at the steering column and the turn indicator, right?
  14. I would like to replace the hose for my gas tank. there are fumes, very mild but there are definitely fumes. I have been told that it is a hard thing to come by the proper equipment to replace the hose. Anyone else have experience with this?
  15. I am going to try just bypassing all the old wiring and putting in trailer lights. Does anyone have a diagram for a 1982 sunrader? I'm pretty sure it's relatively simple and you just connect to the wires that come out of the turn signal, which includes the tail lights and the turn/brake signal I'm literally trapped in a Publix parking lot in Florida so any amount of speed would be appreciated!
  16. I was having problems with the tail lights, but both brake lights and signals worked in the back. Now the right brake light and signal don't work at all So I'm only on the road due to the good graces of people in the town that are being helpful with getting me places to go and stay what have you. Someone spent 3 hours on it trying to find the problem and said it's definitely not going to ground it's new LED lights instead of finding where it doesn't go to ground I'm thinking of just rewiring the whole thing since inside it's gutted with no electricity and I'm perfectly happy creating a new system there at a later date I just want the tail lights to work now How do I connect new wires from the turn signal and the brake and the tail lights to a set of trailer lights that I want to fix on the back
  17. Window SEALING .... these are the times that I miss the large screens where I can proofread, dictation screws me up
  18. Ok so now I know I have the right material with butyl tape, and I have some plastic putty knives hopefully these are my last two questions Question 1 do I need more than butyl tape? It's my impression that butyl tape goes on the inside and that a small bead of sealant goes on the outside, as well dot-dot-dot or am I combining two different Technics? Second question, unfortunately I have not found any links to YouTube tutorials on window ceiling. Do you have one you could send me?
  19. I am signing I am signing online right now to check and see if I can get some input about switching my 82 Sunrader shell on to a different Toyota with heavier chassis and would love to hear any thoughts about that, also about whether or not to go to a 4 x 4 instead I would love to drive it down to Argentina for the eclipse this year because it looks like flying might be challenging, but all those countries might make it worse driving So anyway I'm rambling before I mention the reason I'm talking about this is because I was enchanted by seeing that the picture on the front of this website is from Morro Bay Town my family is intimately associated with and therefore would like to ask everyone to think good thoughts about my uncle the owner of Dorn's original Breakers Cafe in Morro Bay But would also love some more information regarding options I may have for a new vehicle to drive my Sunrader shell around
  20. I beg your pardon So then So then that is what you do with the plastic putty knife is you dull the very tip while sharpening the angle? Thank you so much for all of the help! I will start to take pictures of this process I put in a new floor myself and those pictures will be visible as well
  21. I thought I was emailed when I got responses I was just checking to see and I'm glad I did because I got your excellent reply! So So yeah there is gradual dripping coming from I think most of the windows so I have to reseal all of them I have the butyl tape in the sealant and taking the windows out is easy, hopefully my last question before I get this done Dot-dot. Is the plastic putty knife the same tool described in someone else's post that I've been looking for for a few days and haven't found where he talks about sharpening the blade angle and dulling the tip of the blade after you're finished? I hope that's not too rambly!
