  1. Hi Linda. So if the walls don't show any staining, if we still either smell something a little funky or see any roof sagging or nasty looking seams around AC or vents, should we plan on checking the interior of the roof? Can we see enough if we remove the interior cieling panels? The idea of having degraded, moldy roof panels is not the way we want to start out our great Sunrader adventure. Thanks-
  2. How can I locate the beams to be sure they are there? Are they enough to handle the roof air conditioner? Thanks-
  3. Thanks, didn't even know about the Indiana plant, when did the added supports start being added? Thanks-
  4. Thanks, They look so much better than the non-wrap around ones, and I bet you can see so much more with the wrap around ones. Also don't these come on the newer years, so with wrap around ones you get all the other updates as well?
  5. We are looking for a Sunrader (been for awhile), and was wondering what years have the wrap around windows in the section over the cab, and if these windows weaken the over cab area more than the smaller windows which don't wrap around? Thanks!
  6. Hello Derek, thank you- do you have any thoughts on the Nova Star quality compared with a Sunrader or Oddessy? Thanks again!
  7. Thanks Cody, your RV looks great, the nova star construction information derek sent me looks impressive, but the Sunrader does look a bit cooler, but I think I would be really happy with either one if the quality was similar. Hope you have a great time with yours...
  8. I’m just now checking this thread, noticed the responses are from awhile ago, is there another place members are using now to tell folks what type of Toyota they have?
  9. Hello Derek, thank you - do you have any thoughts on the Nova Star quality compared with a Sunrader or Odyssey? Thanks again!
  10. While Hunting for a unicorn (large Sunrader, rear dinette), I came across a Nova Star, made by New Horizon(?). Does anyone have any information on these? Thanks!
  11. MaineErik mentioning his rv for sale seems like a great idea, It would be great for this site to have a spot where owners or possible owners could post what they have or are looking for, is there a place for this already and I missed it? I tried to open the classifieds on this site and had no luck...
  12. not wanting to (kind of afraid to) get into an engine swap, I just saw an old add for sale on this site, 18ft. Sunrader with a V8, it didn't mention a swap, and the picture of the engine compartment showed what looked like a factory V8(?). Were any Toyota V8s ever a factory option in a 1984, or ever? Tx-
  13. If you would be willing to consider an Oddessy Americana with a rear dinette there is (was?) one in Bath New Hampshire, I saw it about a month ago, some window leaks but otherwise in wonderful shape, low mileage and taken great care of, it was in the classifieds on this site. Maybe this would compare with a a Dolphin?
  14. This is exactly what I was hoping for, it will help narrow down the list (although it seems that after almost 30 years any toyota without past or current leak problems is hard to find at this). It is really interesting that there are so many variations in how these are built-
  15. That's a good idea, and I'm hoping that dumping the portable tank is not too big a deal? Thanks...
  16. First, I actually thought that LInda was kidding when she said you could end up taking a shower and standing in ...Thanks Linda, I think. Second, I'm thinking that I can keep the use down to mostly #2, and that I can mostly ignore the #1 issue (too much information), and at my age the density widely varies (way too much information). Thanks all, parking alot at Cracker Barrel is sounding better all the time-
  17. Although it looks like the Sunrader may the best builder of Toyota class Cs around, they do seem to be scarce, and I'd love to know what the the other builders offer, for overall quality and whatever their best (and worst) features are, to see if there is really any other Toyota which is nearly as good. Does anyone know if there is some information like this somewhere? Thanks-
  18. I am trying to narrow down the best Sunrader for us (thanks Linda for the info. on Sunrader dimensions and capacities) our choice may boil down to one important thing-how many flushes? The smaller Sunraders have much smaller black water tanks (9 gallons?), and I'm wondering how many flushes you would actually get before the smaller tank was full. Any ideas? Thanks-
  19. Thanks, this is great, it's interesting that the smaller size has the rear windows, which is what I was hoping to find...
  20. With some of the newer posts on Sunraders, and my interest in getting one hopefully this year, I realized that I know very little about the specific sizes which were built, and what the interior features were (and what you don't have in the smaller one that you do have in the larger one). Is there a place where I can find this information? I want one which is as original as possible, with no add-ons, anyone know where I should start? Thanks.
  21. I am glad I read through to this thread, this was a question I wanted to ask. Is there also a way I can find out the tank capacity differences, if any, between the same tanks in the shorter and longer versions of the Sunseeker? More shorter Sunseekers seem available lately, but I don’t want to lose too much capacity by getting the shorter one. Thanks!
  22. I'm just a newbie on this site as well, don't know that much yet, and the site is helping, but in looking for a few weeks or so what you are checking on seems to be as scarce as hen's teeth (if it's true that those are really scarce). If you use a professional rv person who does inspections to look it over for you let me know what you thought of them, in case another one comes up in that area that they could check out for someone else...
  23. A mini split system sounds interesting, even though I'm not sure how it would work (what kind and size generators to use, how to join them etc.). Would this like having them in parallel? Thanks-
  24. Best of luck! This price looks great, I've been looking (just a short time, I'm not quite ready yet), but from what I've seen that price is a deal. What engine does it have, if the 4 cylinder is it fuel injected, auto or manual transmission? Good hunting-
  25. It’s always nice to see that there are people way smarter than I am thinking things like this through, having A/C in back is a definite must, and even if it takes almost rocket science my lovely wife will be all for it. The 302 motor sounds interesting, that’s another whole thing for me to think about, once I find the right rv, thanks...
