  1. I wouldn't take it to the stealership but that's just me. May want to check you fuel filter, you may also want to check your EGR valve. Any reputable shop is fine. these motors are nothing fancy for a mechanic its back to the basics.
  2. Tried uploading a photo but it keeps failing out
  3. I seen a video a while back on YouTube of this guy who did support bars for his cab over. For the life of me I can't find the video again. I have seen the one on here of the older man with the 4x4 one. That s not the video I'm looking for. My question is my support bar that runs across the bottom of the cab over I want to make sure I attach it into the wood. So I'm wondering do I put it where the j rail is or behind It? My bunk is in excellent condition but on the highway I do see it flex and from what I read that flex causes leaks. And I'm a gorilla in size and I feel when I sleep up there it could use the extra support anyways.
  4. I got them from SDTRUCKSPRINGS.COM. I had registered my email with them then the next day they sent me a 5%off coupon that I couldn't use lol. and when I call them out on it. they said they could still give me a discount just not as much. but 260. is still a good deal.
  5. Linda I appreciate you. I went ahead an ordered the load lifter 5000 total was 260.82 I was told they would be at my door by the end of next week. I have a full garage packed with tools so I don't see any issue installing them. thank you all for your help. Now I can move on to my next issue. lol
  6. Yes I understand that. I would just hate to order the kit and have it not fit and get charged a restocking fee. I was hoping someone here has installed that same brand on a pre 86. Maybe I'll be the first
  7. so im looking at those load lifter 5000 however my dolphin is a 86 but I believe my chassis is a 85 10/85 to be exact. these load lifters say from 86 to 94 anyone ever install them on a 85 or older by chance?
  8. yea I'm going to have to crawl around down there and see what I can find. I also heard it helps to poor boiling hot water into your holding tanks and drive around. it seems to be a common problem with all RV's. thanks for further insight.
  9. Ever find out what glaze bead you needed? I have the same as you and I have looked at that rv link from jjrbus but can't seem to figure what one I have.
  10. when I read that thread Derek up North I look at one of the links https://www.truckspring.com/products/air-lift/loadlifter-5000-57113.aspx I don't understand how the upper bracket is mounted. the bottom bracket is easy enough it just sits on the axle and gets tightened with new U bolts. 5k lbs sounds nice. and the Airlift ones are a little cheaper in price. and like Linda said Summit may have a sale. Just wish I knew how that upper bracket worked.
  11. I took my MH out this weekend to Antelope Lake, CA. It did really well considering it was LOADED. full of water, full tank of gas, full propane tank, 3 kids, a dog and the wife lol. I noticed as the time went on my fresh water tank gauge inside the coach would drop as we used it, however the black and grey tanks always just said empty. I know the Grey water was not empty at the end and the black should have been registering with a little as well. Anyone ever have to fix this problem before. I would like to know how full all my tanks are and not just the fresh. any help would be appreciated.
  12. that's something to look into. Yes I am in Reno and we do have Summit Racing store here. I actually just bought 8.2 ML spark plug wires for my MH they had them on sale for 28 bucks. does anyone know what the part number is for the Airlift ones?
  13. for future reference that bracket I have is the one used for T-9 air systems per T-3s RV. I had sent them a photo of it. for a complete setup shipped its right around 350.00 I will order next week.
  14. last night I noticed behind my passenger rear tire I have a label stating this vehicle is equip with T-9 Air System. I've read around here about T-3s RV. and I see they sell a set still.
  15. so yesterday I was crawling around under my MH. checking the pumpkin fluid and what not. I noticed some perches on the bottom side of my frame just in front of the rear axel for air bags. Air Bags are gone but the air lines are there along with the upper mounts I believe the lower mounts mounted to the leaf spring. I have a some photos. I'm hoping someone here can tell me what kind of air bag will bolt right on to the mounts I have. make the job easy and maybe a little cheaper if I just need some bags and new air line.
  16. I have a atwood furnace all original, I know its vented, but I'm wondering how many of you still leave a window cracked just in case?
  17. I bought my Dolphin about 2 weeks ago. and I came with all and I really thing ALL the owners manual from the Generator to the Toyota Truck owners manual. it even had the Original manual from Dolphin. I have Manual for all appliances as well. I thought I would ask to see if anyone else could use this info. I'm not sure how I would get copies and post them here for others but I thought I would offer I know how hard this stuff can be to fined. (with other projects I've done) let me know if any of it would be of use to you. My title says 86, but the badge on the outside of the coach says 10/85
  18. Well it wouldn't be too bad except I have a rattle in my exhaust. With that rattle it's a little loud but once I fix the rattle it won't be too bad.
  19. mine is the Onan 3.0 Genset. no green door.
  20. well I feel foolish, but I'm just happy its working. I did not realize the generator powered the outlet inside my electrical box. plugged in my cord and Boom things started working. Thank you all for your help. I hope to learn my RV inside and out and then I can become of use to others here. thank you
  21. I folks I'm Mike, I''ve been lurking here for some time. I've wanted a Toyota Dolphin for sometime now and started reading about them on this forum. Because of you folks my Dolphin has the 6 lug floating dually axle. And a few others post have taught me to look for. 1 week ago I purchased my Dolphin and I would consider it a 90% all original and in really great shape for 85/86. ( title says 86, badge on outside say 10/85) only real problem was some water damage in shower area. So I thought I would start by fixing the rattle on my Onan 3.0 Genset. When I bought the MH the lady fired it up and it ran, powered up the rooftop A/c worked the microwave all was good. It did have a rattle. (Nothing crazy but noticeable). I ask PO if she ever tuned up the generator and she said no it's always worked fine. So today I set off to fix the rattle and change the fuel/air filter the basics. So I thought it would be easier to just pull it out, so I disconnected the ground wire on bottom of MH from generator. Then I found I could just remove some of the cooling fins to get to the exhaust manifold to tighten it for it was loose. I got all the cooling fins around the exhaust off and tightened the exhaust pipe. I put it all back together with new filters reconnected grounding strap. Generator fires up it does pulsate some but the big concern is it no longer turns on the A/c or microwave. Anyone have any info that could help me? If not I'll have to run it in to the shop. My mechanical ability is strong from pulling motors to rebuilding front ends. I have just never worked on a generator.
