Am I the only one who has no idea what y'all are talking about? Sure I could google it but that's too easy.

I got a filter from NAPA, changed it and put in 9 quarts of Dexron VI thru a series of drain and drives. It drove perfect with the first drive. The filter didn't even look dirty to me but what a difference. Thanks everyone for advice!! We are pulling out Thursday for Yellowstone from Texas and are so excited. We drove all over Arkansas last fall so this will be our second big trip. I'll post in the trip report later. Thanks again.

When we bought ours the couch had been reupholstered but not the two chairs. We had them redone in a more modern style with fabric that complements the couch. It was $350 + the cost of material (can't remember $) but we are extremely pleased we spent the $. The carpet we had planned to rip out although it is in really nice condition. After we got it home and really started looking at all the areas that had to be redone we decided we loved it.

So there isn't a replacement filter? You just clean and re-install?

90,000 miles on transmission. The fluid is brownish but doesn't smell burnt. I added a cooler last summer, when I bought it with 86,000 miles it had never had one so much of the fluid was replaced when I did that. The previous owner said he serviced transmission but it may be likely he didn't.

Thank You for the replys !! They don't make Dextron II anymore is that correct? What would you recommend as the best fluid and filter?

We are headed to Yellowstone next week in "Flo" our '85 Sunrader. I've been working on it and have noticed the transmission slip alittle when you put it in gear. Once the fluids warm up its ok. Other than the slip when cold it works perfectly. I put in some Lucas transmission stuff and it actually made the slipping worse. Maybe it needs time to improve it I'm not sure. I'm gonna drive it around every day and see if it improves. Should I worry a lot, leave it at home and just travel in the car, or do you think it will be fine? We have been planning this trip for months and now not sure what to do.

Something else to consider, we live in a warm climate (flat out HOT a lot of time) so we have a homemade partition blocking off the coach. We could never keep the cab cool without it. It's just the two of us and the wife helps me back when need be.

I'm 52 the wife's 51. Our last child has one more year of college. We have owned 2 bumper pull trailers and a large class c motorhome over the years as kids were growing up. I'm like you in that I never even considered such a small motorhome til recently but with finances being the way they are now it was the best way for us to see the country.

Congratulations! I own a '85 Sunrader with the 22re and automatic. Good luck moving from a house to the toyhouse.

My Sunrader rail is also the tv antenna. I can't imagine that thin piece of aluminum tubing being any kind of drag for fuel economy. I have both rail and ladder on mine. I don't use the ladder for anything except a rack for my lawnchairs.

That seems to be an odd layout the way the kitchen is right behind the driver's seat and then the couch. I've never seen one like that. Seems nice enough otherwise from the pictures.

To me the whole object of a motorhome is to enjoy it not to profit from when you sell it. For the guys that enjoy tinkering with them a fixer upper could be had for much cheaper. If that's you than I would pass on this one but if its really nice and you just want be able to go without much fixing it should be good. I wouldn't worry about the miles, most of real low ones seem to have set a lot and not been maintained.

When the wife and I decided to get back into rv's we looked at a Minnie Winnie. I can't remember the length but had a smaller v8. We were just thinking at first about how much fun we had with the kids when they were growing up and such but when the owner said he got 8-10 miles a gallon it was a wake up call. I figured up it would cost us $25 in gas just to go to our local state park. I'm so glad we passed and started looking at Toyota. Y'all have lots of fun and hopefully you will be able to take the trips you dream of.
