Dometic DMC-45 Generator in '85 Coachmen

I have a new-to-us 1985 Coachmen that is running great. We're taking it out over Memorial Day and I expect to run the generator a lot, so I wanted to change out the spark plug, air filter, and make sure the oil is clean in it.

I'm already stuck.

I can't find the dipstick to check the oil.

It's asking for a spark plug that doesn't seem to exist. (Champion RL92Y)

I can't find an air filter to fit it, and there's no part number. (Can I just hose it out and dry it?)

Searching the web hasn't helped. Going to my local farm supply store and Lowes is pretty much a joke.

Any ideas?

Also, my wife and I work full-time and could afford to replace it with a new (and hopefully quieter) generator. I'd just want to replace it with the best make/model I could get, with the most power output. Does anyone have any suggestions, and is this something I could install myself. On a scale from 1-10 my mechanical ability is about a 3. (See statement about not being able to find dipstick) I did manage to replace the water pump the other day... I think that's at the max of my echelon of service ability.

It seems you might have a 'Generac model 8699-1.

My guess is that there is no dipstick. Rather you remove the fill plug and check the level there. Full to bottom of threads? Top? Middle?

Thanks... The second link is indeed my generator. Must be the rarest of rare because I can't find much info on it at all. The generator actually runs good now (knock on wood) but is noisy, and there's oil all over the inside of the compartment. I know... if it's not broke, don't fix it... but it takes a while to turn over, which I attribute to the rusted spark plug in it.

There's that plastic fill tank for the oil, just don't know how full to fill it. It's half full of very dirty oil now.

I'd try contacting Generac. They might have some info. And I guess draining the oil and putting in fresh to the same level as now (plus maybe a little more) would be better than nothing. It's odd that the Champion spark plug doesn't show up anywhere. I noticed that on one of those Forums a guy was offering to email a Pdf of the manual.
