185R14 Hankok Tires

I took Bobs advice on checking the Tire dates on my Brand New :-) 88 Dolphin.

When I looked at the date codes on my tires, they all appear to be circa 1995-1997. Wow, 13 and 14 year old tires, probably acceptable for an around town clunker automobile, but not for "at gross weight" operations on long road trips.

In searching through the topics and found one in particular that offered up some good advise on purchasing the tires at the lowest price (I need 6, maybe 7, look at all the tires and determine best condition/date)

It seems Discount Tire (a national tire chain) has a feature called something like; "I found a lower Price", and they will match or beat that price.

The Forum search also steered me toward a $70 price tag for the Hankook 185R14 8 ply, light truck tire. (called out as RA08)

When I entered that link and my Zip code into Discounts web site, it says they'll get back to me. I'll keep you posted on the outcome of this very important topic.

I installed 6 RA08 tires on my rig last summer from Discount/America's Tire Co. For quicker results, you just need to call your local Discount Shop and tell them what you've found, then they'll beat/match the price. Sometimes they want a printout of the website you found, sometimes not. This is the 2nd set I've purchased from them and I've always had good service.
