Fergie
I was cleaning out my Chinook today, and found all of the original paperwork that came with the vehicle, including all of the O&M manuals for the appliances and the original Owner's Manuals for the truck itself, and for the Chinook as well! In reading the Chinook Owners manual, it mentions that there is a rear bunk that came with the Chinook models, something that I was completely unaware of. Does anyone here, especially the Chinook owners, have the rear bunk in their model? I'd really like to get some pictures of the set-up and see if I can replicate something similar for mine. Thank you! Gavin PS- If anyone would like a copy of the Chinook Owner's manual, I'd be more than happy to scan and email them to you. Derek up North
I'm not sure if this link will work without joining the Toyota Chinook Group, but here goes:- http://groups.yahoo.com/group/toyotachinook/photos/album/1992008199/pic/1871128524/view?picmode=&mode=tn&order=ordinal&start=1&count=20&dir=asc I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for. Derek up North
Short of finding one with the 'Hamocks' installed for you to measure, I don't think you'll do better than Fig. 11 in this file. http://f1.grp.yahoofs.com/v1/8Gr9TDz4ANtEyP0zSZL5FueSz2OqJLlQkhB_u-T8YpgiFzIj7aDpg4zEQGeh7KP-VbZkvY2n1YNkz9htDYNn1ICipiR-QFZz7PYxLoFXSK-GQLeGkIZTpF9nczc/76chinookpartscatalog.pdf
Fergie
Derek, Thanks for the links; I didn't know there was a Chinook Yahoo group! I can't find a single rear bunk, but this is what I was thinking of: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/toyotachinook/photos/album/1553297152/pic/2124103632/view?picmode=&mode=tn&order=ordinal&start=1&count=20&dir=asc
Diesel_Aggie
If you are willing to scan the manuals into .pdf files, I'd suggest posting them here or in the files section. Or on a file sharing site with a link. Requests for manuals on any of the Toyotahomes is one of the most common questions I've seen here. Derek up North
I don't know where you're located, but there's a Chinook mounted on a 4x4 Toyota truck for sale in Indiana that has the hammock installed. Maybe communicating with the owner might get some close-up pictures. http://fortwayne.cra...2084145752.html "We have a Chinook Camper that was originally on a 1978 Toyota truck chassis, but the truck was trashed and we took that camper off and put it on a 1992 Toyota with 4 wheel drive. This has the 22R motor which runs very good. It has air conditioning that gets very cold. We have it listed on Craigslist too. I thought someone here might appreciate it more though. The camper pops up and has two beds. The couch makes into a bed and then a canvas top bunk that pulls out. It has a mini fridge, 3 burner stove, pump sink, and a warm and toasty heater that runs on bottle gas. There is a small storage compartment that holds the bottle gas tank very well. Please call, don't email, with any questions. Kim Guy 765-206-0577 It has a clear Indiana title." A picture of the hammock 'deployed'. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/toyota-campers/photos/album/891531734/pic/698543318/view?picmode=medium&mode=tn&order=ordinal&start=1&dir=asc
