purplecaman
Well guys we have had great time travling across mexico and we will start crossing the border to guatamala in the next 4 days, we sit in palanque mexico now and enjoy the company of many drivers. we welcome any body traveling south to join in on the carvan. its exciting and not to say never boring as there is so much to see and do. its costing on the avf about 900$ per month when we stay at a camp ground and 700$ when we beach it or curb it. our next metting place is lake atilan http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lago_de_Atitl%C3%A1n have fun and hope to see the kids who play with toys soon

Sorry about the mega-bump from the forum ashes, but I've been thinking about bringing a 1977 Toyota Chinook to Panama. Recently paved surface roads are ubiquitous, and camping under the stars is the norm. I wonder if you guys (the OP) made it that far south, or if there are any Chinook owners in Panama? Stevo
Yes I would like to hear how your trip went too. Was it a 2 wheel drive or a 4 wheel drive Toyota motorhome?
