iadoptedatoy Posted October 5, 2008 Share Posted October 5, 2008 (edited) Thought I just drop a line and update a little. We took our Huntsman on vacation for the first time last week. Everything went really good. Our little turtle was a little slow on the hills getting to Myrtle Beach from Tn but a really smooth ride. We found it a little cramped for 3 dogs and 2 people but not too bad since we really spend most of our time outside under the awning. We did encounter one problem though. The weld broke on the trailer hitch that was holding a rack with a generator on it. Seems that was just a little too much weight to sit on a rack. We will pull it on a trailer next time. I must tell y'all that we had so many people in the campground come and tell us how neat our toy was and how well taken care of it was. One man said it was like a new penny. We were in the oldest camper there (and the only Toy) but looked as good as the rest. We had to kind of giggle to ourselves knowing we had spent about half the money those folks had for a vacation. To wrap this up we love our little Turtle and happy we have it. Hope all of you that were able to attend the Toy In had a good time too! Cathy & Mike P.S. It was our first vacation in over 8 yrs. We have three dogs that will be going places with us in The Little Puppy so we have that in common. I bet you all were the talk of the campground with your little Turtle. It's nice to be a little different in a world of BIG rigs. These little ones seem to take a licking and keep on ticking with lots of tender care and $. Just think, this is the beginning of many more fun, enjoyable and somewhat affordable trips. Nice to hear that you took your three dogs and had a well-deserved vacation after none in eight years. Oh yea, we did find gas but stopped more often because only about every other station or less had gas. So, as soon as we were at a half tank we stopped in case we had to travel to find any.
