  1. Tach was jumpy as described way above. I didn't have to add a coil wire. Just hooked it up as described in dayoffs post, with the yellow wire to the p terminal, and had to disconnect the red wire or the brake light would stay on. Had to adjust the tach needle to zero with the ign switch on.I don't know about the low fuel level light as I've never let it get that low but it should function if there is one there
  2. What an awesome build! Before they crush that 4runner, you might want to pull the lockable glove box, and lighted cig. lighter outlet and ashtray which you have to easily wire up. There's also a tray in the cover under the ashtray that the pickups didn't have. Also, the lighted visors from a Lexus ls400 are nice upgrades with mirrors and telescoping when to the side , that fits with tension under the added grab handled as seen below, as the mounts are not a direct swap tho resulting in the visors being at a slight angle. I also got the map lights and put in a backup camera with a switch. 94 4runner donor. Also grabbed the door card pockets.
  3. Joe, On my V6 I did not have to mess with the coil at all, it was a plug and play other than as descibe above. If you have a 4 cylinder, I would search on yotatech for getting the tach to function properly, as it's been done and described over there. Sorry I can't help more, as it's been quite a while now.
  4. Welcome to look at ours if your ever down in Illinois. We waited for a V6, rear dinette, rear panoramic windows model, but put alot of work into it. Wait for one with no water damage or leaks if you can find one.
  5. I think the ponderosa layout is neat also; just never got to try it as previous owner took out the dinette. I've actually never seen any other mesa or ponderosa layout in person or for sale.
  6. Good to know. Ponderosa to Mesa Odyssey conversion.
  7. It was actually a ponderosa layout that we converted to a double jackknife sofas layout. Previous owner had replaced the dinette on the passenger side with a table, chair and a tall, heavy high school locker. We tore both sides out but kept the drivers side sliding sofa, base only, and drove up to elkhardt Indiana and purchased 2 matching jackknife sofas. Then purchased 2 Amish cabinets leftovers to be used as the couch base and for more storage on the pass. side,; we put 2 cabinets end on to match the height and length of the other side exactly. The drivers side couch can slide out some so they can meet in the middle when flat to form a queen bed. We then have an Allen wrench that inserts into an adjustable hole so it can't move. It's so easy and fast to set up that we only sleep there unless we have the grandkids. We have a 1.5ft by 4 foot table that we use to eat on that attaches to the wall between them when the couches aren't flat. This was my wife's design and seems to work great.
  8. The maplights are from a 94 4runner.
  9. Large rear window is also nice driving using the rearview mirror and freznell lens, but I installed a backup camera with a switch anyway.
  10. We converted ours to 2 jackknife sofas with a removable table in the middle that hooks on to the wall just below the window. The beds meet in the middle to form a queen size bed which we can set up in less than 60 seconds. The view with the panoramic windows is great as are the 2 separated sleeping areas. The downside is the shower right behind the driver seat; not much seat back extension room if youre tall and need it. Don't know if other layouts are like this too.
  11. Smart to get the OEM sender, as it's tough to replace as it's so hard to reach. Mine is only hand tight with Plumbers white tape, really hard to get a wrench in there. It's just above the oil cooler. Don't know if it's easier to pull the alternator as it's just above it. You have to pull the cluster to change out the lights. Can't recall where I got the green OEMs but not really worth pulling it again in my opinion.
  12. Reviving an old thread. A year ago I replaced my steering damper on my 91 odyssey as it was leaking, with a Monroe from RA , sc2914. It fit ok but the right angled end does not have the ball joint socket the original oem part had. Someone just posted on the Yahoo group that the Monroe will fit, but not work properly due to no fore-aft movement? If I recall, the ball joint allowed for some r-l and some top-bottom movement. Seems to be working ok. The oem is10x the price so prefer not to replace it. Anyone else use the Monroe sc2914?
  13. Congrats, pics look great. Odysseys are also the largest toys in width and height. Make sure the tires are ok date wise; Just ordered 6 new hankooks, 8 play, 65 psi max. Would still change all the fluids, Toyota red antifreeze, diff. Fluid, brake fluid, etc Check out the threads on the t100 or 4runner cluster swap if you want a tripmeter, tach, voltmeter, oil pressure guage. It's a direct swap..
  14. We have a 91 odyssey ponderosa with rear dinette. Americana odysseys are very nice;. Still could have water damage around windows, vents, lights, under overhead mats, etc. Stored inside? Price seems high for 91 k, unless in super condition with no leaks and everything works. Check date code on the tires as about 800 to replace.
  15. Ok, thanks. But how do I access the top of the bolt holes on the cross members to put the bolts in from the top, as it looks like the nuts are welded on the bottom of the hoist holes? Looks like only 1 of the bolts on the cross member remains?
  16. Thanks, but yes there is no mounting plate on mine and would need a longer crossbar due to the larger center wheel opening
  17. Thanks for the reply. May be an accessory tank mounting location but it would be hanging kind of low. It's a 91 odyssey, just wonder if they all had these brackets from the factory. Looks like they could support the spare tire weight though?
  18. Would like to move the spare off the back exterior wall mount to underneath. Noticed the 2 metal braces shown below and wonder their purpose, and if they could be used to mount the spare or if anyone has mounted it in this location?
  19. We rebuilt the bottom half of our door. Not too hard to take apart and replace any needed framing.
  20. Got mine from eBay. T 100 cluster has the prndl if an automatic. Make sure it's a cable speedo if yours is. Could also try a pick and pull. Will lose your ect light unless you do some minor soldering and transplant an ect label as described above. Gotta match the odometers; check out YouTube. Also YouTube videos on dash removal as well. check out yotatech also if questions aren't answered above, many there have done this.
  21. Your welcome! Glad to help. Again, mine is the V6 engine. Make sure the t100 cluster you purchased is cable driven if that's what you have already. My cable is starting to make noise and is jumpy sometimes. Would have been a good time to lube it with the cluster off.
