I have a 81' Mini Cruiser that was born with a diesel and at some point in its life grew a 20r. When the transplant took place it was in a rather "creative" fashion. My ignition switch, or so I believe it is, is running my carb, fuel pump, distributor cap, and alternator. All of them are wired into this one little wire. There are plenty of other wires here in this harness but I have no idea what they are or where to get a new harness. Any advise is welcome.

Today I stripped my original roof rack off my '81 Mini Cruiser and put up some Yakima racks. I used 86" crossbars and tracks, landing pad 1's and control towers. The frame of my roof is wood so I measured, pre drilled, and siliconed/screwed the track down. I can now move my crossbars around and add multiple if I need. It'll be perfect for surfboards, bikes or cargo boxes!

Hey Linda, Sorry our convo got mixed up from private to forum format. JD was extremely helpful and now has my problem solved. I was not fielding the alternator right and he went as far as to label a picture of my alternator for me and direct me where to wire it to. I'm new to this forum stuff and even more new to the mechanical wonders of these little joy machines we all love so much. Sorry for the confusion but JD was just trying to help and he accomplished it in a big way saving me from having to take my rig to a mechanic and spend some serious $$$. My 1981 Mini Cruiser won't hold a charge. I think the alternator may not be big enough to push both the engine battery and the house battery. What kind of alternator are you guys running in your rigs to charge both batteries?
