Picked up the new rig yesterday. My only toyota driving experience, was my 86. This 89 is a lot more 'refined'. I spent the afternoon cleaning the. Thing out, the PO literally handed me the keys. He threw in a nice bike rack, 2 actually. Lots of goodies like tools, vacuum, etc. the original owner made some great mods. It is wired so that electric hot water is possible. I really prefer this layout to the rear dinette my 86 has. The guy I bought it from so all windows are tinted. Kahuna

It's funny, the stove was never used.

Well that didn't take long. Put an ad on kijiji asking about a Yota camper. Guy answers that he has an 89 Slumber Queen. Wow 100k km, roughly 60 k miles. Toyota maintained, dash air, roof air, cruise, v6, side awning, built in leveling jacks, on and on. I didn't haggle on the price so (which was more than fair) so he threw in a practically new honda genny and an add a room. Has an alarm, killer stereo with remote. The original owner built this slide thing for the upper bead, it makes the bed 1.5 feet wider. I can't believe it! Kahuna in Kanada

I currently have an 86 Slumber Queen, it's been great. I bought it last November and have already logged 12k km, including 6500 km to key west and back at Christmas. I'm sold, however I'm not sure the floor plan will meet my needs for longer trips. (I'm retiring in a year or 2). So far my favourite is the Winnebago or Itasca 321 RL. I like the couch and chair setup. I also like the larger bathroom with a proper shower. It looks like all of these have a v6 and cruise. In a perfect world it would also have the generator and outside shower. I am going to see a really nice Sunrader in a few days. Time is on my side! Kahuna in Kanada

I went to 2 rv shops today. One told me to look on the internet, the other didn't seem interested at all in the job. Getting at the current breaker is a nasty job. Can i just put the a/c on its own circuit? Maybe with it's own dedicated plug.

There is only one 110 breaker.

Do i need a breaker?

That's what i was hoping, the opening was solid wood, no wires. I was thinking i'd wire in a 30 amp plug just for the a/c, ice station zebra!

I just installed a used roof air unit in my 86 Slumber Queen. The camper was not built with a/c. I've cobbled together a temporary electrical connection. I'm thinking i might wire the roof air with its own dedicated plug. How hard is it to fish wires in the walls? Any ideas? Kahuna in Kanada
