  1. I mostly boondock camp so regs don't apply! If I'm at a state park I use their showers. Shower kit just arrived so I'm about to get stuck in. I'm hoping I can keep my oven in place and simply shorten my under oven draw and have shower access box right behind it. Hard part will be attaching plumbing with cabinet still in. Think it's possible though.

  2. Thanks. Yes that's the big 2 questions: where 2 add it and winter camping. I don't think I'll do the add a room so I'm thinking of adding it on the awning side where all the plumbing and pump is. I also want to add a battery box on the drivers side. They have great plumbing quick connects now too so I might redo my existing plumbing while I'm at it.

  3. Hit up those forest roads for sure. Dispersed camping for free can still be found but only if you go beyond asphalt. You'll get hooked and upgrade to a 4x4 Sunrader, with chains for winter exploring too! That's what I really like a nice dead end winter forest road with some good mountains to backcountry ski!

  4. I decided to modify my single 12v cigarette lighter in my rear console above fridge to accept a dual USB outlet and also a standard cigarette lighter port. I used a dremel and bored out the plate to accept a marine grade double outlet I purchased on amazon for twenty bucks.

It's a simple plug in play. The wiring cones with it both wired together. 2.1 amp USB and max 15v is the specs. I'll should be able to charge both phone and iPad now at same time. One more coat of black and I'll instal.

  5. I finished my solar instal! I returned my original charge controller and purchased a Morningstar sun saver duo dual battery charge controller with a remote wired meter. I wanted a more professional look. The duo will allow me to add a second battery bank in the future very easily. As soon as I hooked em up I was charging away a 7.4 ah! Not bad for 200 watts of panels. I used 8 gauge wire 16 feet to reach my batteries in the engine bay. Charge controller I mounted in the Sunrader closet, and remote meter on the wall of the cabinet. Hardest part was fishing my wires around behind shower/toilet (hint, remove your vanity and you have access back there).
Now I'll just need to buy or make a front wind deflector for in front of my panels. Feels good using the suns energy.
Is this economical? Not really cost me $450 bucks and I can run my Honda generator A LONG TIME on that! But now I can leave my generator behind in the summer, so it gives me options!

  6. Cheers, great info. Any issue running my roof solar cables down inside my toilet vent pipe? To get from roof to bottom of rig? Gases effect the electrical cabling?? One less hole to drill in my roof, only reason I'll use it and it's right near my panels
