  4. Hi Corbin ... It really does seem they make things up as they go along ... 1st was it had no high clearance brake light .. He would let that go !! 2nd it's well over 15 years old .. But in the MB small print hand book it says any motor born after Dec 1989 needs day time running lights ... My toyota on the door says mfd dec 89 lol .. He still wasn't letting it go without . On the good side my Toyota Is in good shape in the areas that Really need to be
  5. We have 3 outfits in town that to provincial safety's ... I'm not new to the riv & bringing in the odd motor or boat , we are only like 10 miles of the border , for me it's just for fun / hobby .. Get a great deal ey . It really does just seem the garage I used is a bit of a dink I guess ... I had some work done on my work truck this summer $5k worth at the very same , I guess they just worked themselves out of any more work lol . Linda you are very right ... I've been reading up a bit on the net & it seems AB is happy for RVIA .. Derek ..... Ya make me giggle with ya quotes !! ... Keep takin the meds or share mine lol . But I have ta tell ya Derek I just nearly fell over when he said no can do safety !
  6. Hey folks ... Just know y'all gona help ey .. Ok Bonnie the mini Toyota new to us went for her Manitoba (Canada) safety inspection today !! . Well she is in great shape & passed all things mechanically " very happy " BUT for some anal reason the guy decided he could not find the oval shaped electric/gas compliance sticker/badge ...... Well after me turning up & pointing it out to him ... Arrr found it !!! .. Right by the door !! .. RVIA He now has decided in the small print of the small print & him making phone calls , he know wants a CSA one instead !! ... I'm pist big time .... This is now the 5th rv we have brought to Canada from the US & this is the first time someone has demanded this ! . Anyone else had this issue .
  7. Hi to all ... Our new our family " mum ,dad , 2 boys (6) & (9) is Bonnie she is a 1990 dolphin , bought in Minneapolis from the Cranky Ape auction site , bought site unseen , we drove down from Canada ey & picked her up ... 3 new belts installed before leaving town & 1 can of seafoam in the tank of gas . She just cruzzzed back the 500 miles back to Manitoba Canada ... Sure is a sweetie ! We removed the old carpet only because we hate carpet & put down some vinyl that we had left over , mum cleaned & freshened up the inside , I got the fridge , stove , furnace , a/c up & running ... The hot water tank was split right open from ice I guess , I got that cleaned up & welded in town , it know works just fine . I've changed the oil & filters & drained the transmission 2 times & put in a new fuel filter .. Painted the back bumper & put on 2 new flaps. Installed a fantastic fan in the roof & re sealed the roof even though no signs of water inside .... Only area of past moisture is right at front under window , but very little .. Hose on the window revealed the rubber that holds it in was crappy , so popped it out & reinstalled with sealant. Plan is for her license inspection tomorrow , then work out how to store fix on a bbq .. Racks for 2 kayaks ... Think how to carry 15 gallons of extra fuel ... Some kind of front brush bar ... & a rear storage box . Then we will be heading to the south of Mexico in December . Thanks in advance ... We have had awesome advise already from this community . Frodo & family
  8. Thanks for the info ... I'm thinking to do maybe 2 more drain & fills , that should replace most ey ! .... I'll just take the new filter back to the store maybe ... Looking under when changing the fuel filter I noticed the front prop & centre bunching looks new ? . Maybe something was updated
  9. Well my unit .. New to us is a 1990 V6 ... I've done the motor filter & moved to synthetic .... Changed the rear diff oil .... Done 2 drain & fills on the transmission , the fluid was dark , the motor pulls very well & if shifts well ... I have a new filter on hand for the transmission but have not dropped the pan yet ... Now I really can't decide what to do ...
  10. Hey Rad Thanks for the info & interest .. Yes west coast /c / east coast ... But will dip back into the west coast from Oaxaca City to Puerto Escondido , houtulco ... I'm just not sure about taking our scooter , it's handy to have but the toyota does not seem heavy in the frame department !! . I make more or less everything I need & like the overkill on everything , but just don't think I can drive south with confidence with a scooter on the back . Going to concentrate on a outside bbq on the back , kayak rack on roof & more fuel capacity . 85mirage .. Follow your dreams .. One live live it !! ...... The roads just fine .. Toll roads as good or better than freeways in US .. Free roads are more to our liking ....narrow , winding , lots of speed bumps & lots of roadside tacos .
  11. Thanks van man ... Mine is not real damaged in any way , but it seems they all have a twisty bendy piece at the top !! .. Why ! ... I also noticed the bent tip & I actually bent it back flat lol , I've since put the bend back on it . I'm just going over a bunch of things on her before she goes to get a inspection .

  13. We have a 1990 Toyota with a 3.0 V6 .. After doing 3 drain & fills of the transmission fluid , I want to made sure the level is right on the mark .... My dipstick is showing lots of buckles & bends & measures 31inches from end to end . Can anyone tell me what your is .. & can you still buy a new one . Thanks
