I had tranny issues coming over a pass this summer and burned it up pretty good. While it was salvageable the mechanic suggested that I manually shift it to reduce the stress on the automatic transmission. Since the service I have put over 2,000 miles on it and it always shifts after warming up for awhile. It does scare me every time though. I am leery of the condition of the transmission since the service and am wondering why it would need to warm up before it will shift. It is a 1986 with a 22re in it and am not sure of the exact transmission that is in it. 3 speed with overdrive although I keep the OD off. Is there anything to be concerned about or should I continue driving as is? Takes about 5 minutes or so of driving until it begins to shift. After warmed up shifts just fine without any big clunks. What would I be looking for in a rebuild/new transmission as far as cost and difficulty if I was to do it myself?
Thanks for any input.
Stephen
I currently have my 1986 toyota dolphin plugged into shore power and I am not getting any action from the furnace. When I turn on the thermostat and set the heat I hear the thermostat click but the fan/heater never turn on. Not sure where to start with this problem. I believe it is an automatic lighting furnace so it is difficult for me to tell where the problem may lay.
Thanks for all the input will check on Sunday when I get home and let everyone know what it is. I have never seen them work and I have it plugged into shore power now.
In my 1986 Dolphin I have an issue with all the lights, outlets, and stove hood not having any power. Im not sure why they wont work but something tells me it is all 1 issue. If you have any ideas please let me know!
Thanks,
Stephen
