  1.  I've heard mixed reviews on the Thunderer. (I understand you get all the bad online and little of the good, so I don't know). Someone posted a link to Priority Tire with I forget what brand $69.99. I thought I'd give the local place a check first $117.99. The $69.99 ones are now gone. LOL

The ad said "like new tires" when I bought my Odyssey last week. Sure enough they have great tread...........I'm glad I didn't look closer before headed home (140 miles). They are extremely dry rotted. So bad I would have had second thoughts.

     So still deciding............and looking......

  2.  So I noted that I got a 1987 Nissan Odyssey. I'm my searches I've not found a place that has more info on these units than here and Linda in particular. So I thought I'd ask here. I've been cleaning.........what am I missing on the sides of my front doors if anything? Is there supposed to be some sort of seats there? There are stickers on both sides noting that to not use the seats while traveling.

Also has my other seat/bed been replaced? Would it really have been a different color? So far everything seems to work. I've not put water in it but what I've tried out has worked. Previous owner smoked and I've almost got the smell out. There were curtains but they are gone. Wife has ordered new ones.

  3. That is a great layout. I don't know if you search all over but there is a very nice one in Illinois.

I don't know how long the link will be good for but I thought long and hard on this one but the wife really wanted an automatic. So........................

Wow what a find. Makes this the 3rd V6 Nissan Odyssey I have ever seen. I have a mechanic friend who thinks this V6 was one of the best ever made. I have one in a Sunrader. Sat in a field for several years and I picked it up in New York and drove it to California. If your all good mechanically making it pretty is easy. Love it

Thank you. I almost passed when I first saw it but it drove great and as bad as the outside looked the inside really doesn't need much. I really looked hard for a Sunrader and at some point I still hope to get one of them but this will work for now.

  5.  Well, I didn't get a Toyota but I have to think this site can still answer a ton of questions for me. I got a 1987 Nissan Odyssey. The good is it runs great. Only has 47,000 miles. Everything seems to work. Interior is pretty nice. Doesn't seem to need much work. I'll update it some. V6. Full floater axle. My guess is I got around 14mpg bringing it home. The best is it was CHEAP. There is a reason.

While you can't tell from my poor pics (I'll get better later) the outside looks like sin. Someone painted the trailer with a brush. Looks really bad. Silicone applied really sloppy. It needs tires. But it was cheap.

  6.  The thing that doesn't make sense with me on that sale is that there are many better ones listed for sale for less money. I've been looking. Quite a few of the later V6 models listed in the 11-17k range that seem as nice, the same or still in decent shape in that price range.

And then you have the odd one listed for 28k or something.

  7.  A trick buying from Autozone. If you buy online they usually offer at least 15% off. If you aren't in a hurry, put it in your cart and leave it. Generally you will get an offer for even more off. They also have a rewards program that gets you $5-$10 coupon after so much spent with them. I've been buying my batteries this way. Pay online and then just go to the local store and pick it up.

A heads up though, if you buy online the local store won't have the purchase in their computer. (in case of warranty or return). Tell them you bought online and then they can access it.

  8. That's a great Nissan. I think only you can answer the question BUT yes, it would likely be worth your time to clean it up and paint it. Outside of the velour someone needs to bring that one back around. If you were closer I'd ask a price.

  9.  So........It's hard to believe but I posted this 7.5 years ago. I should have bought the one I discussed above and put a new axle in it. Who knew? LOL.

I've looked on and off over the years and chased a guy down one day with a Sunrader but he wasn't selling. I have a Chevy City Express (the small delivery type van, same as the Nissan NV200.) We tent camp and have the van to take all essentials but the wife and I are now retired and she would like something a little more comfortable so I've been looking again. So far, nothing worth looking at or not a scam. I'm thinking I'll be knocking on front doors anytime I see one.......which around here isn't very often.

  10. Drove 3+hrs to see total junk. The price was 2400. At that price I was expecting damage. What I got was the worst water damaged unit I have ever saw. The current owner attempted to seal the entire unit with general caulk. The caulk was just globbed everywhere. Both sink drain pipes were wrapped in duct tape. The bunk mattress was gone as was the dinette cushions. The roof had holes the size of my fist. I am IMO rush and will learn from it. I will demand detailed pics before traveling in the future. My search continues

I know which one you are speaking about. I asked for better pictures and I was told that he wasn't able to get better pictures. I'm glad you made the trip as opposed to me. :detective2:

  11. People exaggerate their mpg in everything. I've seen people claim to get into the 20's with gas Toyota MH's. That said........it's sucks that things like that were never brought here. 18-22-24 mpg I wouldn't care, I'd buy one.

I drive a diesel VW and love diesels. I hate seeing all the diesel options that people in other countries have when picking a small motorhome.

  12. I tried to search these questions but I didn't really have much luck. So if anyone wants to answer I would appreciate it.

I understand many camp sites have restrictions on the age of the motorhomes they allow in. Obviously as these are all older units, is it ever a problem finding a place to stop?

As far as local travel, do you all pretty much just unhook and head for the store, local attraction and or whatever?

    Thanks.

  13. I'm new here and it seems the RV I was going to buy has likely fallen through but enough with that. I love the GMC RV's of the 70's. I debated and debated buying one but in the end we didn't need something that large and I hate putting gas in things, LOL.

Still ......... an all original GMC Palm Beach would be my ultimate if it was more practical for our use.

Being it's not, dang, I wish I could find a Toyota like your Sunny.
