  1. True...after i wrote this I tweeked the gov ,i squeezed 125 volts out,I put my frequency counter on the output,it was between 60-63 cps, thats ok ...the voltage dropped to 101 under load (microwave) so the regulation is piss-poor.BUT,im happy it will now cook a Lean Cuisine in 7 mins.run coffee maker in 12 min. What more could I ask for?Bill
  2. I admire anyone who can do anything well...certainly your cabinet will be very nice ,plus airflow.I have the midwest practiality attitude.Reliability and frugality.Bill
  3. I bet there isnt a more fatal condition to RVs than rot...water damage .I was reminded today as I was installing a line monitor for the generator ,I had the base cabinets open fishing the wires around the water heater.I cold see under the shower pan and felt for moisture.it had a very slight damp feeling more from being so tightly enclosed than a water leak.In the past on other units I keep cabinet doors open wmade up a when not in use and made up two small fans i use sometimes. Before i buy a RV i inspect every inch for rot crawling around looking into every cabinet with a flashlight, dont take chances Bill
  4. i wondered why Best Buy has so many stand alone cameras for sale, really hi tech...Im still using casette tape would need camera and monitor thanks Bill
  5. just got it 4 weeks ago...Ive been down this road before, this is my 5th rv after a 20 yr absence, not my idea after 20yrs my mind was kinda foggy as to why i stopped but now i remember..THE MAINTENANCE...we will see .even the new unit we had required alot of time...so far I like this of best of all Bill

  7. TO weep ,or not to weep.....no holes in these,i understand your point these were sealed with silicon and water still gets in but i think not working makes the condensation issue come up,the heat from the lamps being on would tend to dry them out.....maybe.......thanks Bill
  8. But not the Peak system, its readily available in this area, but there are problems with water getting in camera....anything else? Bill
  9. clearance lights working....I went out to spend time on the lights today...Heres what happened..all the lights are out, well the odds of all bulbs burnt owlingut are slim.I took off both tailights expecting to see two extras leading from the runnng lights, nope. Then i pulled the license light .nope.Then i went removed the passenger side light and back fed the circuit at that point with a 12vdc power supply, not one clearnce lite can on, but the ammeter showed current,so i looked around back down low and saw the license plate lite on AHA..the clearance lites or some are still connected to their proper place good news ,no crawling underneath so whats wrong? i started pulling the rear clearance red covers off, seven in all .I found 3 lite assemblies that had bad connections, one was a replcement that the installer botched up. i soldered these bad sockets ,everything works .for now.probably be back in the future. These sockets are poor design especially when thy are prone to fill with water Bill
  10. Thanks both of you, rained today, tomorrow i will actually start looking now that i have some clues, always have a back-up plan Bill
  11. Dan,thank you,i went to the winnebago site. There is some excellent diagrams and drawings avaiable, unfortunately the last one covered the clearance lights but fell short of showing the point at which they are supplied. However, there was a clue in the pictorial drawing....as i suspected the tailights were shown along with the clearance lights ...this makes sense since the operate from the same circuit, but the tailights still work,so one can reason the fuse is still good it must be a connetion problem, where would be a good place to connect? One of the rear tailights...maybe its spliced underneath. The other case is the circuit is fed from the front possibly the cab,MAYBE EVEN something was knocked loose when i changed the radio last week ha...Bill
  12. waiter,we think alike ,if i cant find the source or its not accessable ....i was going to backfeed them as you suggest thanks for info ...bill
