  4. the Mossyrock Washington Toy-In is set. I was notified today that there will be three coming from the north end of Seattle. There is two from the south end and that makes 5 so far. I'm sure there are others who will come. It is necessary for those interested to call me and let me know. The more the merrier. The camping place is about 5 miles out of Mossyrock along Winston Creek road. Two miles off Winston Creek road (at the two mile marker) turn right on a gravel road. Go down the shallow hill for 1/4 mile and turn into the Jolly's land. It is nicely mowed and places to park are first come parking. Check on the web for Saturdays event (Mossyrock Blueberry Festival - this is important due to the events happening on Saturday. If you have a problem let me know. It is usually warm there so bring a hat and sunscreen. Other event will be set prior to the event by others. I know I would like a pot luck dinner on Saturday. Possible card playing - holy boards etc. Would also like a discussion and small repair tech time in the afternoon. Those interested we will be going to a church service (usually my sisters church nearby). Other stuff added for sunday, Rest, cards, and chit chat. Let me know if you are interested for we will be having a great time I'm sure. My name is Ted the organizer. I can be contacted by email @ ted.thurlby@gmail.com or cell 206-419-7009. I don't have texting so call or email. Lets endeavor to have 10 come out. Get your rigs ready - I've notified plenty of time in advance. Lets have this be a great Toy - In.
  5. Mossyrock Blueberry Festivial Toy-In. Aug 2 - 4th. Location Mossyrock, Wa. (Sisters Property) Fee - Donation This year I am sponsering a Toy-in at the beautiful location in Mossyrock Wa. The location is 30 minutes off of I-5 about 45 minutes north of Portland and 100 south of Seattle. Beautiful acreage that is mowed weekly by my sister and has water and electric if needed. (For those who do have to have it). Also have an outhouse if needed. I think what makes this location good is we are planning this around the Blue Berry Festivial (which is Aug 2 thru the 4th). Those interested can arrive at beginning at noon on Aug 2. They have activites even friday evening.(The Honky Tonk Drifter will be playing in the evening). They have a pretty good car show, and pancake breakfast in the am, Booth to visit and much more. See the link below for their web site. Mossyrockfestivials.org I know that their is a Vancouver Island toy in going on sometime in the summer, but I think 2 of them is not too much. Some who can't make it too the Vancouver one might be able to come to this one. I hope to have as many as possible, for the land will camp many rigs. They keep the place nice. Aug 2 (friday) Arrivial of units, parking your choice. Welcome others that come in. Aug 3 (Saturday) Mossyrock - Pancake breakfast at Mossyrock. Noon - Car show. It is hot so bring a hat. Evening back at campground - visit games (cards) (Potluck dinner at 6:30). Aug 4th. Enjoy the morning or go to church somewhere together. Then back to campground visit then can stay and visit or leasve for home or wait till Monday morning to leave. All the above activities can be changed of course. It is just an idea of what usually we do when we have getogether. Believe me this is a great time to visit. Nice place to park - grassy field if you have kids to play. Water and electric - Close to town for any supplies or other activities. Mount Saint Ellens viewpoint close. Off of Hwy 12 so those who live in eastery washington can come over from Yakima. Kinda in the middle for all. Open Toy in for anyone. Reply back for comments or questions. Yes I will have this even if I am the only one. I went too the Blueberry Festivial in the past and I really enjoyed it. It is hot with lots of people. See web site. Let me know. Or contact me via cell @ 206-419-7009.
  6. Follow up on the Install of the Temperature Gage. Instead of using the manifold to splice into the tubing I went over to a friends house and he installed a fitting to the oil pan. He brazed a 1/4 pipe fitting onto the trans pan. There is only one place to put this due to the valve body that takes up almost the whole pan area. It is possible to install the temp probe into the pan. Tried it out and it works fine. Try to post pictures this time. I give up I cannot upload any pictures of the install. If you want the pictures send me a email and I will send them to you. Great pictures. Ted from Seattle
  7. Update!! Today there was a slight change of plans. I went over to a friends house and had a threaded 1/4 pipe thread brazed into the pan. There is only one place to put it due to the body taking up all the pan. Anyway it's done. It is installed in the pan and works great. At first I thought it wasn't working for it took awhile to get past the 80 degree starting mark. Flushed the trans fluid via coolert hose. Took 6 quarts of Dextron six. Anyway I will see if these pictures will come through. Comments welcome. Can't find the attachment icon so will put
  8. Summer is around the corner. Interested party's let me know. Location can be discussed. There is allready some interest. Great sites in Washington. Would like to have at least 5 units if possible. Ted from Seattle.
  9. Say It's getting close to camping season. My rig is about done. A few more things and off I go. For those who replied to this post and if you are still interested let me know. Anytime get together is fine with me. Ted 206-419-7009 Ted from Seattle
  10. I have a 87 Itasca with a 2.4 Auto. I hooked up a Transmission gage (where the coin box is to the left of the steering wheel. Anyway I wanted to hook up the temp switch to the trans pan. Took it off and found that there probably is only one place it can be hooked to. (Passenger side 1 1/2 inches from the front. The part I got from Napa to screw the temp switch into had the wrong threading on it. So I decided that I would instead use a manifold to tap into the tranny line instead. These run about 45 bucks off the internet. Still have to order it. Would like others ideas on how you installed your manifold into the tranny line. I am posting some pictures of the trans and what I was up against. Also my unit has a trans cooler from the factory but are these large enough for the unit. Ted from Seattle
  11. Well since I posted this site quite a few have responded. I do believe that they are at least 6 of us that can get together this summer for a Northwest Camping excursion. The site I have gone too in the past is Buck cheek on Hwy 410, past Enunclaw about 20 miles. It is a huge area to camp in and it use to cost 0 dallars. They are outhouses to use if necessary. Basically dry camping. Great walking trails alone the white river. I would like to give everyone a chance to prepare for this. Prior to June I would like a get together at the Brown Bear Rest for noon meeting. in Federal Way, Washington. Will give a month to prepare for everyone's best time period. Would like it prior to Feb, 15th. Everyone reply back with City you will be coming from. This would be in your own vehicles not necessary your Toy. Just want for us to get to know each other so we can discuss issues for the year. Post your city so we can contact. If you would like you can call me and I will put your name and phone on a secured paper. Ted from Seattle
  12. My 87 toy four cylinder starts fine but the engine doesn't seem to have a fast idle. Is this normal or what would cause this condition. I realize there's a cold start injector it is supposed to increase to fuel to the engine. What testing can I do to correct this. On other fuel injected Vehicles the idle goes up and then come down after warms up I realize that there's no connector that you can hook to. Is there any type of computer light that flashes on these units. has this has this this light. Seattle Ted.
  13. Wow sounds like more than a simple fix. I just thought that it was a power leak somewhere. After reading the comments maybe the holes were partially formed by salt. In the front outside that outside that area and on the rear just above the back bumper . the salt in the the salt in the roadway was on tha was on that area.
  14. Subject: Rear bearing regrease and inspection. Just started the rear bearing regrease. Interesting job to say the least. The hardest part was getting the cones off. After pulling the shaft set it aside and use a larger phillips driver to take the two screws out. Looks things over first as a precaution. Spin the retainer off then pull the hub. I took the rear seal out and will replace it even though it looked good. With 42k on the hardware it's not a bad idea. The bearing looked good but the grease was more liquid than grease. The rear one which is larger than the front one was greased better. I cleaned and now will put together. While off I inspected the brakes and they look real good. No need to change them. No leakage of brake fluid. I hope this will answer any questions for those who want to regrease their rear end. It wasn't that bad. Also I painted all parts even the rims - that you can see in another post. Let me know if you have any questions. Ted from Seattle.
  15. I have it plugged and now. When I got it was not plugged for six years. Do they make a ground that you that you could hanging from the frame.. Seattle Ted.
  16. Does anyone know what causes the small holes in the outside metal skin. In washing the newly purchased MH I did notice a very small tingling feeling on my skin at times. I'm sure this is due to a ground problem. Everything works fine in the unit and in good shape. If you have any possible solutions to this fix let me know. Ted from Seattle In chemistry and manufacturing, electrolysis is a method of using a direct electric current (DC) to drive an otherwise non-spontaneous chemical reaction. Electrolysis is commercially highly important as a stage in the separation of elements from naturally occurring sources such as ores using an electrolytic cell.
  17. I don't think my last post was to good. What I want to know is there a test port that I can screw in my transmission temp gage into. According to the temp gage instructions they say that there is but I'm not aware of any. That doesn't mean there's not one. Any transmission experts out there. It's for the 4cyl auto 1986 model. Any replies are helpful.
  18. Only one so far. I'm sure there are others. Will wait and see. Need to plan a Jan meet and fellowship. Ted from Seattle.
  19. If we have some contact with a small gathering I would like a get together after January. Prior to June I would like a get together to work on our rigs. We can put our knowledge together. Of course in June I hope to head north. We do need a Northwest group. Get ahold of me and we will start planning. Ted from Seattle.
  20. Problem is when I'm all done I will have a hubcap on it and the nice rims will never show. But they must be done.
  21. I have taken off the right side wheels on the rear but now after reading other post I'm wondering if I may be turning the wrong direction for the (drivers) left side. I've tried to loosen one nut on the rear and it just won't come off. Are these left side wheel nuts left handed (loosen counter clockwise). Maybe that's why it didn't budge. I think I read somewhere that the stud has a number or something on it,They are 23mm and I do need to purchase an correct lug wrench. Be looking for the correct answer. Ted in Seattle.
  22. Want to know those who have the Toyota campers if they would like to gather and plan a campout in the Pacific Northwest. I'm sure they are some up here that do camp. Would like a meeting prior and set things up. So if you have a Toyota contact me and let all of us enjoy a trip camping at one time. I have some sites around Mount Rainier. I believe it is free. Contact site or email ted.thurlby@gmail.com Of course anyway is welcome.
  23. I bought a early 87 and it has 5 lug and 6 lug on the rear. I am in the process of restoring the rims due to putting on new tires. I figure after 25 years the rims could use an birthday present. It was a lot of work and I still have 4 to go. Hopefully I plan on doing the hubs. Sprayed clear on after the black and silver. Everything should look as new when I get done. I plan on going to Alaska in June (2013) and hope all is ready to go. Comments are welcome.
