Im a first timer with my 1987 mini crouiser Toyhome
this is the perfect place to start alot of great pepole
and good info
I was at local rv dump station(grey/black water) and another Toyhome pulled behind me
we talked for 20 mins and showed each other are rigs and talked about projects where doing to rv
I enjoyed talking to him and told him about this site...
use Youtube its great for "seeing for your self"

Onan gen had plenty of power for ac 71000btu engine was just above idle...
with micro on its just going from idle to full power then back to idle prob every 30 sec or so..

It took about 5 times looking for coach battery finally found under bench bed(thought was small water tank
)took positive wire off engine battery and lights and 12volt where workimg..Ok their is a coach battery..follow your wires!!!

Just bought used/new Onan 2400 portable generator $200
off of craigslist wholesaler
they wanted $250 said they put gas in and only runs half choke
went down looked new out of box(missing one of the wheel levels)
started 1st pull set choke to half and runs
offered $200 because the way it ran
took home put some GOOD super unleaded and ran perfect
they used(87) gas prob old at that to get it running..as soon as burned off smooth running(under minute)

Hooked up city water first time this week to check water system
OUCH LEAKS everywhere....bathroom sink was the only thing that did not leak orhave to fix.....
1.toilet just keeps running water...Replaced ball valve...Still leaks at ball valve & water line.(bad rubber gasket) replaced rubber gasket FIXED
2.shower head line snapped off...Replaced shower fuacet...FIXED
3.kitchen sink drain leaks...had to use old trap( could not get fittings to match up)Fixed trap with a rubber gasket on drain and trap...
Ever thing now FIXED with no more leaks
total cost $55 got to love amazon and shipped everything in 72 hours at my door!
Picked up a Onan 24000 portable generator $200 off of Craigslist from a outlet wharehouse..They said we just put in gas and starts first pull but runs at half choke
went to pick up and looks like it was never used out of box...started gen up first pull choked halfway to keep runinng...They wanted $250 told them i give them $200 because of the way it running...
Turns out it was just cheap gas(87)
Put some good super unleaded and it ran like a champ
A/C is only 71000 BTU and gen runs good and quite (68db for rated load) Turned on microwave w/ A/C on generator would serge a little but kept running..(just a test)
Very happy with generator and trust Onan(not a honda and cant afford one)

the front 2x4 is rotted !00% on left side

I wonder if you could spay-can around windows to stop leaks and rot?
or would it be a bad idea because you can never remove/fix window

The 22re is a beast of a engine!
i had a 1985 22r long bed truck
i used to deliver portable spa's
engine was fantastic even when i tried to kill engine(was 19yrs and wanted new car...
blew head gasket on camping trip..drove 1 hour home overheating all the way home
long story short..I ran the engine on water in oil for prob 1,000 miles before finally
craped out...
the only thing wrong w/ engine was 1 burnt piston ring
bro fixed and drove truck for another 3 years before sold truck....
I'm very happy w/ my ToyHome power-train,,,Not going to win the race but i will cross the finish line!

we where going to Universal Studio's we turned around
in Oceanside (1/2 way point)

asked brother to teach me how to fix (I'm a grown 42 year old man)
brother says don't have the time to teach....so even better!!!

just picked up toy RV from a friend's grandpa (he thought his son and him could use it)
son moved out of state..Grandpa is getting to old to drive himself...he paid $5,500. 8 weeks ago said its CLEAN!
they came to me knowing how much i always wanted a Toy RV offered $3,000 .
Went to check out RV (after reading up on this site great site!!) was really happy with what i saw 22re engine that was clean 59,000 orig miles seats and cushions are in good shape
laid on bed comfy enough....and then the Cab over Rot..seperation on front windows and seam is sagging under cab..
knocked off a $1,000 offered $2,000 and they where more then happy to give me and brother a new project..
Brother already knows what he wants to do for fix/rebuild and not afraid of cabover
I'm happy with RV so far cant wait to go on a quick trip to San Diego mountains
I think the guy who sold it to grandpa was not very honest with damage.......
)

Getting ready for first trip this week
changed oil
replaced front rooters was fun 1.st trip said i had toy truck 1 ton ...wrong ones 5 lug...need to say dualies 1ton...to get
right 6 lug,,,
tightened all belts (new ones in RV,,)
checked spark plugs look like new
distributor works good
checked for tranny cooler yes and good lines
flushed radiator
tires 2 years old look great no cracks or wear
frig;working
furnace:working after vacuum duct
shower:replaced working
toilet:replaced ball valve/replaced rubber gasket inside of 1/4 water line (plumbing store only)working
kitchen sink replaced drain working
ac/working..ac/heater dont think it woking
Onan 24000 portable generator for power..
now i have to do is get all my camping stuff in to rv... Yeah no more tent!
