Has anyone had experience converting the V-6 to dual exhaust?

Would like to add a hood scoop to my '92 Warrior. Did any of the '89 to '95 trucks or SR5s have a factory scoop? I have noticed a little more power and mileage with the change to a K&N stock replacement filter and would like to route additional cold air to it to squeeze a little more out of it. BTW, I have a spare K&N Filter for 30 bucks if anyone is interested.

Has anyone installed the K&N Cold Air Intake system on the V-6 (Part No. 57-9006) and seen any performance/mileage improvemnt? The K&N system still takes air from under the hood rather than cold air from the grille area. I was thinking of installing their system and ducting some cold air to it. My current set up, is the poor mans version. I've removed the silencer from the stock air intake box (which takes air from behind the drivers side headlight) and replaced the stock filter with a K&N. Didn't do any before and after tests.

Has anyone added an auxiliary automatic transmission oil cooler to the 4 speed auto? I have a '92 Warrior with V-6, auto & air. There has been some excellent discussion in the forum on the subject but I'm wondering if anyone has actually installed one and could recommend what unit to buy, how to install it(in line or parallel), where to install (there's not a lot of room up front) etc. I'm thinking a remote unit with a fan might be a good choice since it might be possible to mount it somewhere away from the rad. After contacting my local Toyota dealer searching for a replaceable transmission filter I learened there wasn't one. I assumed there was a screen filter of some sort inside. Since time was running out before taking the Warrior on it's maiden voyage ... I simply drained what I could from the transmission and then topped it back up. I found 2.5 litres came out. I may attack removing the pan this winter. I do recall there was something unusual about finding a pan gasket, either it cost a fortune or there wasn't one so you used silicone. Perhaps someone else can shed some light on that! Regards, Voicemaker

I'm replacing the front pads on my '92 Warrior. Does anyone know what the torque specs for the front brake caliper bolts are? And the torque specs for bolts on the housing that holds the pads are? Thanks, Voicemaker

Thanks for the advice Diesel Mike. To borrow a line from Star Wars "You are the master, I am the student!" I've discovered the other bag is also leaking. So far, I've got one of 'em out. (Had to remove the rear wheels to get at the bracket) They are older Firestone bags called "3T Air Sleeve". I'll change up to Ride-Rites and possibly add the Downey springs. Did the Warriors roll out of the factory with just the 5 spring stack and the Toyota rear shocks? Voicemaker

Thanks Diesel Mike. You are correct I have air ride suspension bags. One of 'em is leaking air at the base of the bag. The actual shocks run inboard and parallel to the bags. Is removing the bags completely and adding a 6th leaf spring an reasonable option? Any other ideas? (The FIrestone system is 400 bucks locally!) Voicemaker

The laminate I used is from Ikea. They use it for their store floors and the instructions indicate water is not a problem. Being a carpenter I thought I test would be in order. It passed with flying colors! Voicemaker

If you are considering ripping out your carpet like I did I would highly recommend replacing it with laminate flooring. The thin, tough foam underlay allows the floor to "float" over the plywood subfloor preventing any stress cracks and it also adds a level of sound and heat insulation. Originally I was going to install glued in oak parquet hardwood but so far I'm very happy I went with laminate. Cheers, Voicemaker

I picked up my '92 last fall for $9000 CDN. Asking price was $13,000. Same mileage, needed tires, thorough cleaning and general minor repairs/servicing. After spending the time I have fixing it up I glad a didn't any more for it... should have offered $8000, actually... Voicemaker

When I bought my Winnebago Warrior earlier this year the Coleman Roof Air Conditioner was included but removed and laying inside on the floor. The ceiling grille, filter and control portion is missing. Did it have control knobs on it or is it controlled by the wall thermostat only? The previous owners son has agreed to look for it in "the workshop" but knowing what it looks like would be a help. Any chance someone could take a digital picture? Happy Holidays, Voicemaker

OK, I've had my '91 Winnebago Warrior for a month now and I'm slowing going through it piece by piece, and component by component so it will be ready for lots of fun times next year. One question...is there supposed to be a spare tire somewhere? I can't find any evidence that there was ever a spare tire carrier underneath or on the bumper. Voicemaker

After doing a lot of price checking before buying my '91 Warrior last month, I found the blue book price to be inaccurate. The actual selling prices on the units I checked out were 50 to 75 per cent higher than blue book. Happy horse trading, Voicemaker

I picked up my '91 Warrior today and discovered the original Warrior Operations Guide cassette under the passengers seat. I've created and attached an mp3 dub. It's pretty corny but since my Winnebago Owners Manual is long gone there is some valuable info on it. Has anyone gone to the trouble of scanning a '91 Warrior manual and made it available? Does anyone know the name/number of the Toyota service bulletin for replacement of head gaskets for the 3VZE6 (3.0 litre V-6) used from 1989-94?
