  1. Thanks so much for the information. Off to the store I go for a hose so I can get this done, happened to find a regulator in a box of stuff that came with it today as I was cleaning things out! What a treat it will be to have water....until I have to start repairing leaks of course Stephen
  2. Hello all, bought my 1978 sunrader last fall and took it on a 2.5 month winter trip. The little toy did great(although definitely a little slow in the mountains!) Now it is time to get the water systems going for the first time. My toy did not come with any manuals. First of all, how do I fill the tank? I know there is a connection for a hose on the back end. There is also some kind of slide out hole thingy on the passenger side that looks like it could have something to do with the water system. How do you know when it is full, etc. The system also has some rv antifreeze in it, I'm still searching the forum for the answer but what is the best way to get this all cleaned out? Any gotcha's I should be looking for as I start using the water? On another topic my 3 way refrig is missing the igniter for the ignition. I think I found a place to manually light this on the back of the frig but I never had any luck. Any tips or ideas on this one? Thanks for any help, Stephen
  3. I am looking to get some airbags for the rear of my sunrader. The places selling them normally only go back to 1986....I am exchanging emails with one company though and they asked what chassis it is on. The truck is a 1978 toyota pickup I'm just not sure if there is any specific model. This is also a question for my brakes that need new rotors and pads. Are these on the the 3/4 ton chassis? Thanks, Stephen
  4. I did read about the front mount, and was going to check back into that thread regarding the "issues" I live in Chicago, but we are heading out to Montana, Wyoming, Utah for most of February and March, so it will be COLD! Going to test out the heater this week and then decide on what supplements we might need. Just looked up the wave's and they look nice. Also nice to not need any electrical on them. Thanks
  5. Well, I am on the road for work and my wonderful girlfriend is slowly making it home in the middle of a snowstorm with our new 1980 toy 18' sunrader! I should see it tonight. I have been browsing through the forums here and wanted to say hello. Apparently my first project is going to be a new starter. I am also researching generators, I don't believe there is anywhere for a built in one, so I'm thinking a portable gen mounted on a rear hitch rack. If anyone has advice on affordable generators or a line on a nice priced honda/onan let me know. Ours currently has no gas furnace instead it has a large AC/Heat roof unit that seems to work well, but also makes electricity a must for the upcoming winter trip we are going on. Well wish us luck and I hope to see some of you out and about on our adventures. Stephen
