I changed my oil yesterday, I was bit shocked by the location of the oil filter on the 22re. the O2 sensor is below it, the mess of hoses and wires below the oil filter it seems to indicate that the engine has been worked on. are you guys taking your oil filter off from the topside or bottom?

brake pads are cheap, I look for ceramic oem or similar pads, harder the pad, more it will eat the rotors.

Tranny drain bolt is also 14 mm, lucked out, found an impact socket in 14 mm, the shop that rebuilt my tranny forgot to torque it down, it was loose that I was able to turn it by hand and loosen it, hence it was dripping tranny fluid. There was no washer present and I will have to get some from toyo and do another drain and fill with my maxlife syn dexvi

no worries, I did the same for the oil drain, I am going to same for tranny. what size is the drain bolt? can seem to find my metric 6 point sockets. I have deep, impact, short and few more sets. arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh

update, the sony head unit is quite nice, sound comes out of the speaks in the dash and rear. Sounds good for me, and am reception is ok, so for now I will not mess with the radio antenna. the head unit has stereo input for my phone for music, that works for me as I use iheart radio and listen to radio on cdma.

decided not to do this today, I have the worst luck with these, next week I will try to open it with a slip plier very slowly

The eagle has landed, I drove home the Sunrader today, it started after a few cranks after sitting for many months. I see the radiator petcock on the pass side bottom towards the firewall of the radiator (next to the atf line) Is there a trick to open it? Is it made of plastic? should I try turning it with a plier lined with tape, very slowly? I can't seem to open it.

as vehicle gets old your chances of finding reman parts decrease. another option is to have the current caliper rebuilt by a reputable shop either close to you or by mail.

I had my clutch boil on me while in a mickey d drive through when I lived in KC, MO in summer with the a/c on. it was a RX-7, Maintain your brake fluid. I had my master cylinder go on me on my Honda, once again due to brake system negligence, it feels the same, you lose braking and pedal goes to the floor. Yes, any vehicle going down an incline for long period will have brakes overheat, I remember driving back from Mt Fuji in Japan and taking the shore route, that was one long downhill switch back drive.

same as to be done on clutch fluid,

your brake fluids boiled. brake fluids absorb moisture and their boiling point drops drastically over time. 1. change brake fluid 2. next time you go down a switch back keep the car in D1 or D2 and use the engine to slow the car down. 3. DO NOT use DOT 5, the rubber parts are not compatible Changing brake fluid: Mityvac, and Castrol LMA or any good brand dot 3 fluid. first suction out what you can from the brake reservoir and fill with fresh fluid. then start at the farthest line (pass rear wheel) and open brake bleeder nipple with a 10mm closed wrench, I like to use a stubby as it allows me to get in to close quarters. use mityvac to pump out and keep topping off the reservoir. Else pay Toyota to do a Brake Flush, it is only $80 without a coupon :-) I do it on my daily driver every 3 years regardless of miles.

Good Suggestion, but I would check if the condenser vanes are clogged first. Flash a light behind a radiator or just look from the front of the grill. I had a Honda with bunch of bugs stuck to it while I lived in NE and drove by the corn fields in summer, my windshield would turn nearly white.

JDE, never tried the radio, I bought the rader and parked it in storage since May :-( Linda, I agree, replacement would also look nicer. hmm, we have an antenna on the roof? I must have missed that one. The sunrader has a newer cd head, I might upgrade it to a HD radio/mp3 head later. I saw newer speakers on the roof near the dinette if I am not mistaken. How many speaker are there? 2 in cab and 2 back in the camper?

Sherrie, I am not sure if autozone will have a tool to scan your 90 Toyota chassis. I would pay Toyota the diag fee and ask them to debug the issue. Ask them if they are able to scan for the engine temp pls.

If MH (motor home) was running at hwy speeds when it overheated, the fan has nothing to do with it 2. if MH was running at hwy speeds when it overheated you probably have 1 of the following: a. inadequate flow b. air in the system (I think you have beaten this one to death already) Inadequate flow: 1. Take out the thermostat and run without it to test 2. Any chance you had them take pics of the block with the head off? how do the ports look? Anyone know if 3vzfe uses an oil cooler for the 90 chassis here?
