  1. Maybe we'll have to wait for FIAT. http://www.fiatcamper.com/en/home
  2. It never hurts to just add another brand new one that's accessible (and easy to check).
  3. We actually had a discussion about doing exactly that. Hasn't been done yet, but I know John (Waiter) is thinking about it.
  4. I did say in my original post that I was mentioning the 'Big Names'. Woosung? Not a name I've heard before nor likely to remember. EDIT: Did some Googling. In 2000 Woosung changed it's name to ...................... NEXEN! Don't know when you saw the Dolphin with the Woosung tires, but I guess there's a good chance those tires are 12 years old.
  5. Hmmm. I know someone in San Diego looking. A bit far. Perhaps.
  6. This 'problem' with the Kumho 857 has come up before. I'm guessing you looked them up on www.tirerack.com. For some reason TireRack has chosen to list them as a trailer tire, even though the aren't (apparently) marked 'Trailer Use Only' or 'ST185R14'. Kumho doesn't mark them as such and I assume they employ enough lawyers to not make such a glaring error. There are a few users on the Forum & Group who use them without complaint. IIRC, they cost as much as or more than the others, so I doubt I'll be trying them. There are more happy users of the Hankook RA08, which is probably what I'll be trying when the time comes.
  7. Not a valuable item. Unless you're missing one! Then it's 'priceless'!! Here's a poor picture:-
  8. '91 and newer Dolphins (& SeaBreezes) have 'stylized' rear bumpers and side skirts. Gone is the typical 4" square rear bumper. The transition from the 'bumper' and 'side skirt' is accomplished with a small 'cap' at each corner. These are held in place with a few rivets or screws. My guess is that they'll only be available used. Maybe an opportunity for someone to set up a small cottage industry making fiberglass replacements, though I'm sure demand would be low!
  9. Can you get at the wires to the switch to see if the switch is bad?
  10. Where are you located at the moment? East? West? South?
  11. I just Googled the PN given on EBay. Led me here:- http://www.toyotapartszone.com/oem/toyota~regulator~assy~generator~27700-38113.html Says the PN is not available. There must be a replacement available, otherwise there would be Toyota Pickups littering the highways. But they also have a spot to enter your VIN. I'd give that a try to see where it leads. Did you happen to keep the VR you removed? Got the PN?
  12. Got you beat there (though I never owned one). The 2CV started at 9HP and eventually made it to a whopping 29HP!
  13. A shame there aren't more Citroen 2CVs on the road.
  14. 1728 231 cu. in = 1 US gallon
  15. Found these for 1985 Escaper:- Fresh - 25 gal. Grey:- 15 gal. Black:- 15 gal. I don't know if these numbers are valid for ALL floorplans or ALL years.
  16. I'm afraid you're going to find little help with your swap(s) here. Toyota MH owners don't seem to be very inclined that way. http://www.google.ca/search?q=22r+3rz+swap&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a Here are my thoughts:- Not much to be gained (HP) by switching to 22RE specs; Probably for the same work, you could do the 3RZ swap; Either swap would be a lot easier if you had a complete parts vehicle available; Enjoy it the way it is while you sort out the motorhome portion and while you decide if you actually like the motorhome lifestyle.
  17. Here are some other pretty pictures of a Nova Star:- www.irv2.com/forums/f65/1987-nova-star-71579.html
  18. What did Low Mfg convert? A 2WD Chinook into a 4x4?
  19. It could be close enough. But might take some fabrication skills and equipment to complete the installation. I'd try and get hold of a drawing from the vendors. Or at least order from someone with a generous 'Returns Policy'!
  20. Sounds logical to me that the wiring would go from:- Alternator -> Voltage Regulator -> Battery Isolator -> Batteries. BTW, if I was you, I'd disconnect your house battery until you manage to sort out this problem. No point in ruining it.
  21. Shouldn't be too hard. A step up in difficulty. You might want to get expert help with this. Yes. I'm going to say more complicated by the overhead cams and way more pollution junk in the way. From the Factory, the lower portion of the coolant radiator also cools the ATF. You might also have another external cooler. I'll second that you invest in a Chilton's (my preference) and/or Haynes repair manual. Th FSM is always nice too! I'll also second getting a compression test done. Also, a 'Leak Down Test' will tell you even more.
  22. Check this Thread for info and a picture of the separate voltage regulator fitted to pre-'83 Toyotas. I assume it's at least similar to your '79. http://toyotamotorhome.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=4400 Best to get your hands on a Factory Service Manual and a multimeter if you hope to try and solve this problem yourself.
  23. I think I'm starting to understand why people (that I've read about) don't try and run their roof air off an inverter!
  24. Of course, if you wanted to plan something around an 'Event' (other than leaf peeping), there's always:- http://www.britishinvasion.com/
