  1. Great Blog. I think i might start my own with my 1979 Sunrader. I have to agree that shag carpet is not a good choice. Seems that was the first thing they installed and then built the cabinets and installed the wiring etc...man what a pain. It's as if staples were free back then. Did you ever think of laying formica or laminate on top of existing cabinets? I am going to try it and see what happens. I like the hammerite idea and boom box idea as well, smart! Look forward to seing your progress and the finished product!
  2. Thanks! I purchased a new relay and am going to disconnect the isolator. It appears that the isolator was not even hooked up properly as there is no lead from he alternator. I am restoring this little 1979 gem and have completed the demolition phase and now on to the rebuild. I am taking a lot of pictures and will post them on a website I have dedicated to the project. This site has really helped me get a lot of information for a first time owner. Its like rebuilding a house and a car, some days I feel like being a mechanic others, a homeowner. -John
  3. 1979 Sunrader....while reworking the wiring and to be honest, figuring the whole thing out, it appears that I have both a battery isolator and a battery relay. The Isolator does not appear to be used in it's original capacity and looks like it is used as a bus to connect some wires, (from generator I think) What is the concesus, isolator or isolation relay. I read a nice article here... http://www.neon-john.com/RV/Electrical/rv_battery_isolation_relays.htm
  4. #1 How does the fuel from one tank get to the other - automatically or do I hit a switch to activate a pump? I just bought this little gem and am having a blast figuring out all the ins and outs. #2 Also, from a basic stand point, I have gleemed from the web that the genie provides power to the rig when she is not on shore power and also charges the house battery, is this correct? If so, the shore power cord must be plugged into the socket in order for this to occure an it must be unplugged and plugged into shore power for it to be cut out of the loop? #3 Does the fridge "know" when it should work on propane or electric? #4 How do i fill the propane? there is what looks like a fill valve where the pilot light panel is or do i disconnect the tank? Where can i get this propane filled? Thanks guys and gals...I am almost complete with my redo of the inside and I will post before and after soon. -John
